Summary

The brand-new best seller from the author of Out Of Practice.

Love and laughter with the residents of Larkford is exactly what the doctor ordered!

Dr Alice Walker has become accomplished at presenting a façade to the world - to anyone watching, she is the epitome of style, composure and professionalism. But perhaps it was to be expected that the cracks might begin to show at some point. Thankfully Grace is on hand to offer both friendship and support when it’s needed most.

Meanwhile, Dr Holly Graham has her hands full both professionally and personally. Planning a wedding with Taffy Jones is challenging enough, even before some surprising news changes everything. At least beloved Larkford resident Elsie still has a few tricks left up her sleeve!

Dr Dan Carter, on the other hand, has decided to throw himself into his career - the best antidote he’s found to unrequited love. When tragedy strikes in the heart of Larkford, Dan makes it his mission to help the community.

Penny Parkes' first novel, Out of Practice, won the RNA's Romantic Comedy of the Year Award in 2017.

Wonderful story - narrator dreadful

When I saw that there was a 3rd book in the Larkford series I was so excited. I even listened to the first two twice as I enjoyed them so much. Then I listened to it - so disappointing. A wonderful storyline but the narrator was dreadful. The Scottish and welsh accents varied from diabolical to cringeworthy.
I just hope if there is another book in the series and I hope there is that they narrator is the same one from the first and second books she was brilliant.

I wish the publishers and authors understood.

I wish the publishers and authors understood we are stakeholders in the story.

I listened to book 1 and at the end immediately downloaded the second book. Same after book 2 but here is the problem. I've now spent over 20 hours listening to one voice and they've changed it!

I literally can't get into this book because I don't recognise the voice reading it to me. This seemingly minor change has spoilt everything for me.

I don't have the time trying to recalculate each of the characters in this new voice so I've only managed a few minutes of this book.

The author will never read this and Audible won't care. Such a shame. Our investment (time, not money) is massive but has no worth to the 'inventors'.

I am SO disappointed. The first two books were every good. Easy listening with an easy flowing narrative.

The narrator is dreadful

I love the first two books and the narrator is great, I was really looking forward to this book but the accents are sooo different for each character from the first two books it's difficult to get your head round who's talking. :( the Welsh and Scottish accent are virtually non existent. I know and appreciate that each narrator is different and that's what makes or breaks audio books for me as I can no longer read a book. Sorry Penny but this has spoilt your third book for me and I have listened to first two loads. I just wish it was the other narrator or that this one had listened to the other books and got the accents similar... :(

Let down by narration

Was excited about this new Larkford Story. But it was let down by the use of a new narrator. The voices in places it was hard to distinguish which character was talking. That very much distracted from a good story.

I really love the new narrator! Story heaven

Have been so looking forward to this new Larkford book and it doesn’t disappoint. I actually really enjoyed the narration so not sure what other reviewers are on about - this ticks all my boxes for a really good audio book and I cannot wait for the next one. Brilliant, funny & heartfelt stories from Parkes yet again.

Trite nonsense

I enjoyed the first 2 stories and only listened to the end of this rather than return it because I hopes it would get better.

I buy circa 100 audio book a year and return a few so I know we all make a mistake with a book.

This was ghastly and although I know it's fiction ridiculous. Wet and drippy I'll never listen to anything else from Penny Parkes worst book I've ever listened to all the way through.

Ok book, dreadful narration

I enjoyed the other two books in the series so thought I may as well complete it. The story line was ok, a bit ‘twee’, but ok. However, the narration was quite dreadful. It became quite irritating at times.

Horrendous narration

I’ve been hooked since book 1, thoroughly funny books but this narrator changed and I can’t get hooked on the story. What a waste of time and a credit. No one replies to these but it really ruined the experience for me
