Always good but this is up there

One of DR’s best in my opinion along with the last raider - always read pitch perfect by David Rintoul

Great story

Listened to it a few times now, it's always good,
Tried to research the ship, but only found her sisters repulse and renown, it's a great shame the government didn't save one of them for tours

Exciting. tension on every page!

An excellent story of conflict with a sprinkling of romance, often illicit. Well read.

Not one of his best

Very well read as usual, but in this story there is too much 'love interest' and not enough of the 'war action'. Not one of Reemans best books.

Really gripping

One of Douglas Reeman’s better books, and David Rintoul’s reading of it is great. Couldn’t stop listening to it.

Action packed naval story

Action packed world war 2 naval story. The characters are a bit cliche, brave, damaged but skilful captain, pompous glory seeking admiral but overall they work well in the story. lots of daring do. The action is well written and vivid. There are a couple of romances that give the story more depth. David Rintoul does a super job with the narration Highly recommended

Douglas Reeman at his best!

Douglas Reeman is a master at bringing to life the Royal Navy at war, he draws the listener or reader into the triumphs and tragedy of the war at sea!

His characters are believable and you really get a sense of the life and times they are living through.

I would be remiss if I also didn't mention his ability to bring the ships to life, they are as much a character in the story as the people who serve in them!

The listener may recognise aspects of the story that mirror that of the famous Royal Navy Battleship HMS Warspite , her story has been told in numerous books but I'd recommend the one simply titled WARSPITE!

If you like a good sea story with full, believable characters, you'll enjoy this book!
