Summary

While performing the greatest love story of all time, they discovered one of their own....

Cassie Taylor was just another acting student with big dreams at her prestigious performing arts college - then she met Ethan Holt. She was the good girl actress. He was the bad boy on campus. But one fated casting choice for Romeo and Juliet changed it all. Like the characters they were playing on stage, Cassie and Ethan's epic romance seemed destined. Until it ended in tragedy when he shattered her heart. Now they've made it to Broadway where they're reunited as romantic leads once again - and their passionate scenes force them they're forced to confront the heartbreaking lows and pulsepounding highs of their intense college affair. For Ethan, losing Cassie was his biggest regret - and he's determined to redeem himself. But for Cassie, even though Ethan was her first and only great love, he hurt her too much to ever be trusted again. The trouble is, working with him again reminds her that people who rub each other the wrong way often make the best sparks. And when it comes to love, sometimes it's the things that aren't good for us that are the most irresistible. Don't miss the intoxicating romance beloved by over two million fans online - a story that'll captivate you and hold you breathless until the final tick.

two strikes

Any additional comments?

Two strikes: firstly it is initially quite hard to get into this book as an audiobook as it zips back and forth in time, but it is written with (just) enough skill that I managed to get over that and got into the story and was helped by the pretty good narration. The 2nd strike though really pissed me off. In the English version the book just ends abruptly without completing the story. The 2nd book: Broken Juliet is not available as an audiobook. Maybe it has not been recorded yet, but the German translation has both books in one. To not complete the story is disingenuous and disrespectful to the reader by asking them to cough up again to hear the whole story. While I would like to complete the book I will not be doing so as to pay another £4.99 for the kindle read or possibly in the future another £19 for the audio version is playing the publisher's profit led game. Shame on the author for playing along too.

Blown away!

This is without a doubt the most grippingly emotional tale I have had the pleasure of listening to. I found myself counting the minutes til my kids were asleep so that I could listen to more! The characters are so real and so hot.... My husband's very grateful! This author spins a fine take, and now I am left hanging until the next release!!!

Wow, just wow!!

These characters had perfect chemistry. Hotter than hot. I loved every minute of this book and the narration was spot on. Full of the emotion of the story. Counting the minutes for the sequel, Broken Juliet.

Whoa so much angst.

If you like a story full of angst and heartbreak then dive right into this one. The story does not conclude at the end of this book so I still need to find out if they get a happily ever after.

I loved this book

Every chapter was a beautiful heart pounding piece of sensational story. This book ticked all my boxes. I can hardly wait for the next book to be released.
Narration by Andi Arndt was wonderful. Great performance. I have left the book definitely wanting more. Thanks Leisa Rayven

Book 2?

Don't know if I can read book 2. Were they ever happy? Both the present and the past seem miserable. Wish there was a little more resolution in book 1 it just seemed 90% was the same scene. Let's hope book 2 moves a little faster.

Very emotional Romance with lots of drama!

The story was very well written. It goes back and forth between past and present. It was fairly easy to keep up. There is so much angst and drama! I really liked Ethan even with all his broodiness. Cassie was not as captivating to me. She is so forward, pushy, and really did not behave like she should. She is supposed to be innocent and inexperienced yet she becomes bold and confident when she moves away to school. IMO, it's a big leap in personality.

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

I was surprised with the cliffhanger but there was a bittersweetness to the way this book wraps up. I'll probably get the next book because I want to see how their love story concludes. But it better not resemble Romeo and Juliet because I hate tragic stories!

It Will Suck You In From The 1st Sentence

It was shockingly a really well written and organized listen. It was hot in a lack of sex way. The love story was so strained but sweet, hot , funny and strong. I couldn't stop listening to it . I finished in one day. I immediately bought Broken Juliet and hope it is as great as this one. Give it a try. You won't regret it.

Loved the characters and Andi Arndt!

Loved this story! Andi Arndt is, without a doubt, one of my favorite narrators. She breathes so much life into these characters that I feel like I'm living their lives. Impatiently waiting for book 2!

ROMANCE LOVERS...DON'T MISS THIS BEAUTIFUL TRAGEDY

This beautiful and tragic love story is told in flashbacks and present day action from Broadway where Ethan and Cassie reunite as successful actors with a bitter history between them. They're rehearsing for the same play.... a play they once performed at College but now sadly the dynamics between them are very different because love has been overshadowed by pain, heartache, hurtful memories, remorse, anger and regrets but somehow Romeo and Juliet must go on.

They first met at The Grove a Performing Arts Academy, Ethan was gorgeous, moody, damaged and insecure and Cassie was an easy-going 19 yr old giddy virgin who just wanted to be liked by everyone..... especially Ethan. They both fought the chemistry and attraction until the bitter end but for different reasons however, the pull towards each other was too strong to overcome..... but somewhere along the way it went very very wrong.

Passionate, sweet, tortuous, romantic, heartbreaking and Ethan's email to Cassie at the end was beautiful, just beautiful. However, this is part 1 of Starcrossed and so has a cliffhanger/to be continued ending which has me counting the days until May (yes, I really should get a life!).

Worth a credit? Virtually a non stop listen that caught and kept me in it's emotional and romantic web and I'm still there reliving the beginning and then the final chapters. So YES creditworthy or a buy. Great narration and told entirely from Cassie's POV.

It had me until the last minute....

I was drawn to this story from the beginning. Andi Arndt in an excellent narrator, so there weren’t any doubts there. I enjoyed how the story slowly developed between the past and present. I really enjoyed how present Cassie didn’t immediately fall back into Ethan’s arms. I enjoyed how their story was more realistic and not so “fairytale”. Everything was good for me until the end…. Cliffhanger. I seriously hate those. Would I recommend this book? Yes. However, I personally enjoy longer books instead of books being split into two. On to downloading the second book....
