Summary

*"Bridget Jones for millennial mothers, with a seriously feel-good ending"

*****"Warm, clever and oh so funny. Get cosy with the literary equivalent of chocolate."******

Juliette had a baby with Mr. Not-Quite-Right. Now what?

As a mother, I thought I'd live in a cottage with roses around the door. Possibly married to childhood friend, hotel owner and aftershave model lookalike, Alex Dalton.

At the very least, I thought I'd own a rolling pin. I DID NOT expect to be living in sin with Nick (bit-part actor who still drinks way too much), squashed into a tiny London apartment, arguing with drunk executives over elevator use.

And worse, I think Nick’s cheating on me. You would have thought he'd be too tired, yet I'm sure something is going on …

Fantastic read or listen in my case.<br />

Superb.
Got me hooked from the first line.
And that wasn't listening to the book.
I was on a flight to Spain and I happened to notice the woman in front looking at something on her tablet and being nosey I had a read.
I thought what a cow writing that about someone then I realised it was a book and I was hooked.
It's equal to Adrian Mole or Bridget Jones.
I am a guy listening to it so no doubt it has a slightly different meaning to a woman.
And at times I wanted to shout out what the f**k are you playing at Alex.
Really good.
If a book gets you going then it's doing what it's supposed to.
And as for Nick's mother we've all got one of those in the family.
Observation at its best.

Bad narrator.

Shockingly bad narration, mispronounced words, the narration keeps jumping and switching from what sounds like unedited and edited version. Worst I have ever listened to. The book is alright.

Couldn't listen to terrible narrator.

Awful narrator. Sounds like she's reading a list of options on a telephone service. Book might actually be good, but couldn't get past the voice.

Sounds familiar!

What a fantastic read (or listen!) Reassuring for all overthinking , neurotic mums out there to realise it’s not just us who feel like this.
I aspire to be Juliet’s mum one day!

Real & Sweet

I really enjoyed this book. As a single mother with no help from the father, I loved how real it was. Juliette was a lot nicer to Nick than I would have been. I also like that she didn't immediately fall for Alex, there was time in between where she felt the pain from Nick's betrayal and was realizing she deserved better. Very good book I couldn't take my headphones out!
