Summary

Shortlisted for the British Book Awards, Popular Fiction Award, 2008.

What do you do when you lose everything? An Absolute Scandal is the story of the end of the glittering 80s and a devastating financial scandal that beset thousands of people when boom turned to bust.

For Nigel Cowper, it is terrifying. But he is sure of one thing: his devoted wife, Lucinda. But Lucinda proves unpredictable as well. She's about to have an affair.

For Simon Beaumont, it seems unbearable. Powerful and rich, he suddenly faces a bleak future. His wife, Elizabeth, still loves him ¿ but can she forgive him for the hurt he's inflicted on her?

To Flora Fielding, it appears outrageous. Beautiful, courageous, she stares defeat down. But she has problems in her family: her son Richard is wrecking his own marriage, and her daughter-in-law Debbie longs to be free.

To Luke Strickland, financial journalist, it is simply a great story - one that would lead him to a wonderful love affair.

But within a year someone would be dead. Who? And why?

"Teeming with style...outselling Danielle Steel and Barbara Taylor Bradford...these are family sagas filled with tempestuous women, successful, sexy men, and passionate plots....irresistible." ( Washington Post)

A bit scattered

The tumultuous plot line of this audio book make it difficult to follow when listening in short bursts, ie. if you don't listen to it all in one go it's hard to keep all the characters and story line straight.
