"Conclusion in a series about God, family and love"

Rachelle Ayala has written this series with a lot of dedication and attention to detail. It is a romance but so much more. It is about familial love, fraternal love, love of country and love for God. With each additional book (this is the third in the series) she introduced complex characters, adding depth and dimension to the plot. She includes issues like sex slavery, PTSD, white collar crimes, polygamy, artifical insemination, childhood leukaemia, stem cell donation and so on. She even gently explores the complexities of being in a committed relationship and the challenges of balancing parental responsibilities. Where most romances take readers up to the HEA, this book blatantly displays that HEAs are really only works-in-progress. Consistant with the earlier books, Rachelle's underline theme is always the characters' (mostly Tyler and Kelly) belief in Christianity and faith in God, despite all the challenges.

Did I enjoy this book? Honestly, it is a little heavy which may be why I didn't enjoy it as much as the first two books. That said, it is a good story with wonderful, lovable and mostly believable characters. And it does have a HEA. I would just recommend that readers/listeners read/listen to the first two books in the series before experiencing this one.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

    "A fantastic series!"

I don't often find series that deals with the same main characters throughout. Ms. Ayala made it seem easy. This is a Christian romance series. This is the third in the series, but it certainly didn't drag because of the continuation of the same story. Each book was still unique in the struggles dealt with by the characters and new characters are also added.
Ayala strikes just the right balance between conflict and warmth. There are moments that are just heartbreaking (once again Ayala does a great job with PTSD). There are moments that filled me with laughter and joy. There were moments that filled me with such longing to be able to help the characters to reach for what they want and need.
Once again, I'm not sure the cover does the story justice. While it's adorable, there is no hint of the seriousness of the plot. If you're looking for a fluff piece, this isn't it--it is so much more! Kelly and Tyler's story is well worth reading, starting with the first book. I promise you won't stop there!
I was given this audio book. The opinions are my own.

    "It's about time"

This couple has gone through so many trials. They both have grown a lot, but still need to grow more and communicate their feelings or they will not make it to the alter. Tyler with his big heart and misguided duty almost loses Kelly because of his overzealousness in helping a women get he served with who wants more from him than friendship. Kelly who always need to be in control never asks for the support she needs. Kelly decides to help the female vet who apologizes. The ending was a great one I didn't expect. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

"Hope is never far away, when faith is on your side"

What began with the dreams of a little girl has become an inspirational tale of the human spirit.  Rachelle Ayala tackles despair, hope and everlasting love through the eyes of innocence.  Her, "A Veteran's Christmas" series explores what family really means.  We can't control the surprises in life but it's the precious moments and enduring, faith that helps in times of crisis.  Ms. Klett is once again ready to shine a light on the trails of Kelly, Bree and Tyler on their road to happily ever after.  Her talent is unmatched with her entertaining vocal transitions and her emotionally charged connection to the characters.  Hope is never far away, when faith is on your side.  After all the drama, it looks like there will be "A Wedding for Christmas" and I'm glad to have a front row seat.

    "A Wedding for Christmas"

A beautiful Christmas wedding that is planned for Kelly and Tyler with six year old Bree taking her flower girl duties very seriously, runs into a few snags.

Tyler is a Veteran dealing with his own PTSD and is devoted to helping other Veterans and former teammate deal with it also. This takes some of his time away from his fiancé and family and causes a few issues.

Kelly is a strong willed , independent woman who is feeling overwhelmed and has a lot to deal with. She certainly has her share of twists and turns and surprises in this story. Will their love be strong enough to endure everything that comes their way?

Brownie, is a large, sweet, protective dog that you can't help but love. He also has a very important part in this story.

This book is the perfect story to remind us of the importance of helping others and the true meaning of Christmas. It is filled with love and heart wrenching moments and yet has some humor dealing with little Bree and Matt. It had me reading well into the night and waking up early just to listen to the last chapters.

Elizabeth Klet is the perfect narrator for this story. Her character voices are perfect and holds your interest while listening. She reads with so much emotion too.

Another excellent , heartwarming story from Rachelle Ayala.

    "Phenomenal End to the Series!!!"

I thought that the second book in the series was going to tear me up, but this story, just drive me further insane. Just when everything should be smooth, and the demons are being handled, and the family is becoming one, more setbacks, doubts, and drama arise. This family has really been through so much, and they deserve to be happy!

Elizabeth Klett is an amazing narrator and I think perfect for this series. Her ability to have many different accents brings the story more to life than just reading the story could.

I love the ending to this series, and couldn't be happier with how it ended!!!

"An emotional ending to a wonderful series!"

There are some very serious topics that come up within this book and they are presented very well. It felt very real to me... not your typical perfect romance where everything is rosy.

A perfect conclusion to Kelly and Tyler's (and Bree's) story.

    "Very realistic story!"

This book was well written and preformed. The narrator did an excellent job of infusing personality and energy into these characters. That said I, this was a book I struggled to get through. I started and stopped numerous times. This is not normally what I do when I get one of this authors books, sometimes devouring two in a night. So I spent sometime trying to figure out why this was happening, how to continue and then how to write an honest review.

It truly is well written, it does deal with some harsh realities. The storyline moves on a steady pace. The narrator does an excellent job. So what was the problem. I believe that it comes down to my personal preferences. And an author or book review should not reflect that. I choose to listen and read for enjoyment, entertainment, and escape. Many times a book escape can make my shift at work fly by. This book did not provide me any of those. Yet that does not mean that it will be the same for you.

I would recommend this book to you if you like your stories on the serious side, dealing with current social problems. If you like your characters to be very realistic than you will love this book! The characters were developed to such a realistic point that I truly wanted to slap some sense into Kelly more than once! Yet they end this story in a good place.

So give it a try it may be the best book you have ever read!

    "A definite favorite!!!"

A Wedding for Christmas: A Veteran's Christmas, Book 3 by Rachelle Ayala, narrated by Elizabeth Klett is my #1 favorite book of all that I have listened to by Rachelle Ayala! It immediately captured my attention and held it for the entire 6 hours, 20 minutes. I recommend you start at Book 1 and work your way through the series so you get an understanding of how these loveable characters meet and gain an appreciation for what they have been through to make it to this point in their lives. I have no doubt you will enjoy all this clean, sweet romance series has to offer, as you experience the ups and downs of Kelly and Tyler's relationship, learn about PTSD, and fall in love with their daughter Bree (whose life adventures in Book 3 become just as interesting as Kelly and Tyler's). :-)

So much goes on in Book 3 of this series! It is not just for lovers of Sweet Romance, either! This book has it all...romance, humor, mystery, and, like the others in this series, teaches readers about PTSD that some experience after war. Ayala again proves why she is an amazing author and when you are finished, you will understand why she has so many loyal readers and listeners! Her storytelling skills and excellent use of dialogue make her #1 in my book. I proudly admit she is one of my favorite authors!

Narrator Elizabeth Klett again does a phenomenal job in her performance with all the characters in Book 3. She brings the relationship between Kelly and Tyler to life and never lets down. She is consistent from beginning to end with her voices, tone, pace, and inflection. My favorite character she plays is little Bree. I feel like her narration skills played a huge part in my total engagement of the story line, as well as my gained appreciation of each of the characters!

I rate A Wedding for Christmas: A Veteran's Christmas, Book 3 a full 5/5 stars. I loved Book 1 and 2, but there is so much more to Book 3 than I ever expected. The storyline is well-developed, and the additional characters add some mystery to the plot. I have listened to many books by Rachelle Ayala, and this one is, by far, my #1 favorite! I highly recommend this book, as well as the entire series!

Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

    "Amazing Story!"

This has been such a journey with Kelly and Tyler! Rachelle Ayala has brought the problems of soldiers who come back from war to the forefront. And as this story shows, it's not only soldiers who have PTSD and need help but everyone who is involved in wars. Kelly has to learn that Tyler has a big heart and wants to help everyone. Tyler has to learn to put his family first no matter what. I have thoroughly enjoyed listening to this series and highly recommend it to everyone! I think Rachelle always brings hard story lines to our attention whether it be PTSD, sperm donation, people with control issues (Kelly), and different types of people from different walks of life. Elizabeth Klett does a wonderful job of narrating. I received a free copy for my honest review. I think everyone will enjoy this series!

    "Absolutely Perfect Treasure"
What did you like about this audiobook?

Yes, I think it is better in its ability to drive home the magnificence and splendor of the full and powerful impact of this incredible storyline! Nothing compares to everything coming full circile and fitting into the perfect masterpiece as this book does so effortlessly. It is a dream come true for a huge romance fan like myself. Utter perfection at its finest!!

How has the book increased your interest in the subject matter?

I like that everything felt completely realistic and organic. Nothing was forced or felt artificial in the least. All struggles were fought and victories were sweet and hard won. It felt so real and was a beautiful treasure to behold as it was slowly unveiled for our appreciation and enjoyment.

Does the author present information in a way that is interesting and insightful, and if so, how does he achieve this?

She brings an unquestioning talent that brings justice and heart to each of these precious characters. She brings hope and light to a two dimentional collection of words and brightnes our world as a result. Her performance is one worthy of accolades and appreciation.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

Yes, this is one book I wanted to read in one setting as it left things at a precarious cliffhanger of sorts. This was the jewel in the series that bleeds of love, compassion, and hope above all else. It is a story that will live with you long after the last word.

Do you have any additional comments?

Every reader out there needs to take the time to explore and savor this remarkable book along with all of the beautiful messages that it has to teach and illustrate.
