Summary

Savannah Dupree is a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But Savannah possesses something even more remarkable than a quick mind and an insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, she can see an object's past - a skill that puts her life in danger when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the terrible secret hidden within the blade's history. In all his 300 years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he'd ever again see the blade that ended his young brothers' lives ages ago in London. There's one certain way to prove Gideon's suspicion, but it will mean using Savannah to help uncover the truth. With danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity.

Contains mature themes.

Really awful narration

The narrator did a horrible job narrating the male lead character Gideon. He was supposed to be British but having lived in Boston for many many decades. You'd expect a toned down English accent, right? Nope. She was all over the place, sometimes sounding Scottish, sometimes Australian, some Irish, and maybe even a little Canadian. There was some English accent in there, but it wasn't consistently from one area in England either. It was distracting enough to pull me right out of the story, which was really good on its own.

Fantastic Series

I loved this book. It was exciting from start to finish. I liked Savannah and the gift she has. It was like having the Midas touch with a twist. The narrators Voice was just the right pitch and aided me in engaging with the characters and not the narrators Voice. The Breed Series is awesome!

Good Story

Great novella. Dialog a little cliche for me but overall a very good story. Great addition to the series.

The narrator

I didn’t like it
The other reviews are completely true, the narration left much to be desired.
The story was fine. Nothing new, predictable. There was some unanswered questions like, what happen to the bullet stuck in his brain? Or, why did he loose one of his lability? But I guess I can let it go.

A touch of midnight...?more like syrupy sweet

All n all it was a pretty good "Short story" read. But that accent ....come on, just a little too over the top for my taste. I had a hard time getting into the story! It sounds like she was trying to sound like Scarlett O' harrar from 'Gone with The Wind". I lived in Georgia & people don't really sound /that way. Lol

The narrator is very annoying

The voice used for Savannah is way over done for a southern, young girl making her sound old and over the top, ridiculous

Don't expect much

After listening to over a thousand audio books I would not say this one was the worst but it's close. I don't know if it was the narration or writing. It was almost like really cheap porn only rated pg.

confused

In general, the narrator did a good.job. However, she couldn^t seem to decide between a cockney accent or an upperclass accent. It was a bit frustrating.
