Publisher's Summary

The new novel from Sunday Times best-selling author Josephine Cox - the master storyteller.

Sometimes you just need the courage to tell the truth....

Although she's surrounded by a loving family, Marie feels lost: living with a lie can be very lonely. Marie has been carrying a secret for years, one that could ruin the lives of those she loves most, and the guilt she feels weighs heavily.

Her granddaughter, Cathy, is a most cheerful young woman, and in the first flush of love. The secret Marie is about to tell her will not only change her future but rewrite her past. Cathy now has a dangerous choice to make that could change her life forever.

As far as everyone can see Cathy's future sister-in-law, Beth, has a happy life and a good marriage, but she's heartbreakingly sad. One day, perhaps she'll be brave enough to speak out and run away....

Secrets at the heart of a family can last a lifetime...but it's the love of a family that can set you free.

    "Pathetic"

This story really got on my nerves seemed to repeat the same points over and over. It was not like a fairy tale and infantile. I won't be listening to any more by this author.

    "Great book"

I enjoyed the book immensely like all Josephine Cox's books. The only thing I didn't enjoy about it was the repetitiveness about the story line.
There was quite a few jumping in the reading.

"another amazing book by a fantastic storyteller."
Where does A Family Secret rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

One of the best i have ever listened to, Carol boid reads most books by this author and she is really suited for her works.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourit charicter was marie, although she made a big mistake she clearly realised this and spent her whole life trying to make up for it one day.

What does Carole Boyd bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

She is great with accents an bringing the voices and emotions to life. this authors work really suits her reading style.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

it made me do both. i really enjoyed the book a lot. it tore at all my emotions.

    Any additional comments?

fantastic book, already looking forward to her next one.
