Very exciting

I'm not sure about the English aristocrat accent but the story line is great I could not stop listening even to sitting in A+E till 1a.m ! Make sure you have a spare 8hours!

Not as good as others in this series

I have listened to most of the books in this series and liked them all. Unfortunately this one just did not match up. The romance was unconvincing with no real reason why they could not hook up but some misguided nonsense by the H that he was in some way damaged (ex-Military/survivors guilt). The h was English, titled, privileged and much is made of the fact that she manages to pick up spiders and dead birds, and go camping etc. without freaking out. It was all a bit cliché. There was a really silly scene where she had to dress up like a cheap hooker, just so they could check into a cheap motel without her being identified. Couldn’t she just wear a hat and stay in the car?

The whole plot line was unconvincing. Since when does disappearing for 3 days and putting friends and family into a panic achieve anything? Apart from allowing the couple to have lots of steamy sex of course. It all got just a little bit boring and the story dragged in the middle.

There were silly plot holes: Illegal squatters decide to install in a hot tub; H was in hiding but h’s brother somehow knew that he had brought a diamond ring; security experts fail to find any listening bugs but then later on go back and suddenly do find them. The whole carefully contrived plot to make the H look paranoid is derailed by the baddie typing H's name in a secure computer database (why not just use "John Smith"!). The ending was completely unreal. Would the H really walk away from his seriously injured "brother"? The h threatens military officials with a press conference to expose US military secrets if she does not get what she wants. Seriously? And she wasn’t immediately arrested??!

I will continue to be a fan of Ms Bybee, as I do usually enjoy her books. This one may not have kept my interest, but it was, as usual, well edited and the narration was perfect.
