Story
Alien university professor and author, Yol Rummy Blin Breganin, continues his research on the planet Earth. He introduces, into this final volume, some stories from the distant past of the Federation, which provide a greater insight into the vast alien empire. In the only free and independent part of the planet Earth – the United States of America – the populace is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the growing authoritarianism. With California in revolt, can the USA retain its own independence in this rebellious climate?

Story
The UK referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU was a political showdown the British PM, Jeremy Hartley, thought he couldn’t lose. But the next morning both he and the rest of the country woke in a state of shock. America meanwhile has its own unlikely presidential candidate, the brash showman Ronald Craig, a man that nobody thought could gain office. Throw into the mix the cunning Russian President Igor Popov, with his plans to destabilise the West, and you have a brilliant alternative account of the events of 2016 that led to Brexit and America welcoming its own new leader.

It's not working for me
- By Alexander Jibb on 29-10-20
Summary
Federation and Earth is book two in the Federation Trilogy. Listening to Federation first is absolutely essential.
After the dramatic and unexpected turn of events at the end of the first book, planet Earth is left with several factions trying to resolve the situation. The new president of the USA is trying to secure his hold on power, while a new group - who have named themselves Free America - is taking steps to overthrow what it considers an illegitimate regime.
Elsewhere, the new secretary general of the United Nations is working with the smaller Security Council to try to bring the rest of the world together after the events at the end of the book one.
Can the aliens be convinced to provide help, or are they just going to watch from orbit?
Note: You won't enjoy this story unless you are open to political concepts which could never work on Earth as it is before the trilogy begins, i.e. now. If you like speculative fiction, open your mind and enjoy the adventure. This book is like Marmite (look it up). You will either love it or hate it!

Good Story, Seemed to end too soon?
I like the story, however it seemed like it ended in the middle of the second act. I don't normally purchase books under 10 hours since at 3.5x speed they don't last long. I feel like the Author decided to cut the second book in half in order to release another book later on... I don't know if I will be finishing the series when the third one comes out...
