Summary

A huge fan of Jane Austen, Danielle hopes to find her own Mr. Darcy when she leaves Colorado to attend art school in London. Of course she knows it's silly to wish for that, naive even. But she's met enough males who lacked respect for women, a growing trend it seemed. And at 19...well... However, on only her second night there she gets lost and is threatened by a stalker who proves to be immune to her martial-arts training. Before she is completely overpowered, she is then saved by Ethan Deveroux.

While Danielle does find the romance she seeks in Ethan, he's no Mr. Darcy. Her hero is held by a spell which fractures their chance at a happy ending. During the day Ethan is closer to mortal than immortal and can date her like any other man. Yet, as the sun sets, the powerful magic of an ancient curse returns and the evil of that spell is revealed. When that magic begins, Danielle's fairy-tale romance ends because Ethan Deveroux is a vampire.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful

If you could sum up Fateful in three words, what would they be?

Emotional, beautiful and soulful.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Danielle because I feel like I can relate to her as a person and I happen to get lost easily also and I also love romance books.

Which character – as performed by Tristan Hunt – was your favourite?

Danielle's uncle Nick, there was a part were he was telling a story and Tristan spoke in such a perfect tone that even I felt shivers.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Ethan protects Danielle from spiders even at his darkest point, the fact that he still wishes to protect her from any harm almost reduced me to tears.

Any additional comments?

I loved this book. If you like chivalrous polite romantic men who also happen to be heroic with an angelic face then this is the book for you. This story is full of passion and true love which only grows stronger with every word you read. This is only the first book in this beautifully written series.

Get Fractured and Forever to complete this fantastic trilogy, I guarantee it will be one of the best series you will ever read brilliantly written by Cheri Schmidt. If you prefer audio books then get the first book right now, narrated perfectly by Tristan Hunt. Definitely a 5 star rating from me.

Will leave you desperate for the sequel

Would you listen to Fateful again? Why?

Already read twice and listened twice!

Which character – as performed by Tristan Hunt – was your favourite?

MAX! The way Tristan brings Max to life is wonderful, I feel like I know max as a jokey big brother role.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Personally I listen while I'm chilling in bed getting ready to sleep or doing something like ironing to keep me interested! I couldn't listen in one sitting due to the length but its definitely hard to put down.

Any additional comments?

Go for the sequel, ir does not disappoint!

Great story

It was great to hear the story as I could listen to what my imagination had conjured after reading the book.
