It includes women too 🙌🏻

I was fully prepared to return this audible after downloading as I doubted that women would be included much. I was wrong. A lot of what Dave says makes a lot of sense and I like how women are addressed!

Shallow

Read beautifully by Dave. I was surprisrd how good his voice is in story telling ...

Unfortunately all the information is already shared in interviews with him and in free podcasts and on Youtube. There isn't really any new information on fasting ... I was interested to listen to the chapter on fasting for women ... just common sense really about women being different from men ..

... if you want depth best stay with Dr Jason Fung.

Cave

Not much content, could have told 90% on it within 90 minutes. Has personal experience, high dosing specific nutrients is questionable IMO, he repeatedly mentions about not eating Kale as if it’s commonly known to be bad but he never says why. Why not just tell us why? Afraid to be wrong?? Who cares, the whole thing is just your opinion anyway so just tell us your reasoning.

It just makes sense!

This book gives you a very practical yet gentle approach to fasting. It's really about taking back control over food and your health without having to suffer, thus freeing up your time and thoughts for greater things. Once you realize your gut is responsible for cravings etc, it's easier to forgive yourself for "not having the willpower to say no".

Worth a listen

Some questionable dietary advice! I’m vegan, and disagree with him on a lot of it. BUT as an introduction to fasting it provides good hacks and life advice. ( He does push his bulletproof coffee a fair bit ) American accent isnt too grating, worth a listen would recommend.

Well Put Together Book

Very well put together. Although I didnt agree with everything completely in terms of food and diet, the information on fasting was excellent and a very well organised and put together book! Really enjoyed it!

fasting explained in a way that's easy to digest

dave asprey calmly tells you how to torture yourself for your own good but in a way that sounds exciting and not so torturous. managed 2 days twice but afterwards have an overwhelming appetite for days.

Too much blahblah

For a much more scientific approach to IF, I far prefer the Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung. This book is full of unnecessary stories and just keeps repeating the same basic message (fasting is good for you). A waste of time.

most of the book feels like common knowledge.
the book boiles down to dont be an idiot while fasting and buy mst oil and bulletproof coffee.
