Summary

Eddie Hunter is about at the end of his rope, so when he stumbles across an ad looking for people to farm in Long Term Immersion in the game Light Online, he can't believe his luck. Once hired he enters the game as soon as he can. Unbeknownst to him, though, the person that hired him is also doing illicit research on the pods that he and the other farmers are using.

The research is rapidly discovered by the AIs that monitor the game and shut down, forcefully, by the company that runs Light Online. But the code that runs those pods has been altered, and until it's fixed Eddie and the others can't log out. Although the devs assure him that it won't take long to fix, Eddie's not so sure of that himself.

Eddie entered the game to make money in real life, and as he tries to do that he finds himself getting entangled deeper and deeper in the game and with the people he meets there. But when he discovers a side of the game that the previous players had apparently never even considered, he knows he has to find a way to stay in the game.

Slow burn

Takes it time setting everything up, introducing you to the characters and setting which are all well written...

If you like a Competent MC with advantages without being OP, this is for you

Great world building

I found the first book in Audible plus and really enjoyed the story so listened to the second book. A great and interesting twist on the genre . the books seem be similar to the other gaming books, then they grow into a fascinating concept of the real and fantasy genre. well worth the price (Free) so give them a try.

Solid slice of life

Definitely worth a dabble in this good slice of life LITRPG nothing awesome or original - just nice to have a series focusing on town building over slaying.

I almost turned off near the start after the MC’s engagement with the first female of the story, worried about the tone the book may have - but this didnt happen.

easy going fun listen

Good narrator with a fun easy going storyline, enjoyable but not heavy, with a hook for the next book

Ticks the right boxes

Combat, leveling, slice of life, settlement building.
Add to that some interesting characters and an engaging plot and I bought book 2 with half a book still to go.

MC goals and personality established pre system entry and was easy to connect with.

Mediocre trash

I'm writing this review prior to returning the book. The "ample bosoms" as the initial description of the first female character the MC meets was the straw that broke the camels back.

This book is poorly written, poorly read, hits on cliche after cliche and a few hours in you can easily tell where it's going (and it ain't anywhere interesting).

It was ok.

This was my first audiobook, so that might taint my review a bit. I found the story interesting enough, albeit slow paced. Being isekai'ed and working as an NPC is like a guilty pleasure dream, so this story seemed top notch for that. My gripes however were that when the main character starts out, he barely does any farming and the first half of the book is just him throwing sticks at bunnies. It gets awkward with every new female character he meets, because the only ways the author knows how to introduce them is to have the main character and others note how "hot" they are and their "generous" busts. It was also kind of funny listening to a man with a deep voice speak in a higher tone, trying to make the female characters come to life. Oh, and the amount of times character stats and skills were listed from top to bottom were obscene, it would've been ok to just summarize them after the first few times.
