No pound coins please!!! Not metres, they didn't exist....
Most enjoyable except for the really annoying altered words which really make one wince! Pound coins instead of notes and metres instead of inches.... The rest of the text is of the era so these odd words are totally incongruous and wrong. Please leave the original text which, as unabridged, should be as written. Otherwise most enjoyable and nostalgic.

Five Get Into Trouble
The Five decide to spend their Easter Holidays camping in the countryside with the usual 'lashings of ginger beer' in plain sight. As is there habit, they meet another boy, Richard, who's the son of a local landowner. When Dick is taken in a case of mistaken identity, it's up to The Five to travel to the mysterious 'Owl's Dene' to find out what's going on.
I really enjoyed listening to this unabridged book. Jan Francis' RP accent was a perfect fit for this particular genre.

To be fair, I'm not the market for this.
Would you try another book written by Enid Blyton or narrated by Jan Francis?
I loved Enid Blyton as a child. As an adult, not so much! But Jan Francis made it bearable.
What will your next listen be?
Lemony Snicket!
Any additional comments?
My children love the Famous Five. It would be a source of amazement to me if I didn't remember how much I loved the books myself. They don't date well, and yet they are still popular. Go figure.
