This book is the best one I’ve listened to in a long while, it got me hooked from the beginning, the narrator’s were excellent but the story was one in a million it was such a shock at the end and I loved it.

really enjoyed the story, but couldn't work out why individual chapters were read by a man and then a woman, and kept changing.

Surprisingly good! I’m always unsure about such a short story and how it will have impact, but I really liked the concept the author brought to life here!

Synopsis: Cat goes to a Halloween party to dump her boyfriend, and stumbles across mysterious Brigan. Brigan is just looking for someone to feed on and discovers the first person he can’t compel, and could be the answer to his curse.

I like Cat and Brigan’s dynamic. It’s very much insta-lust and has to be given the length of the story. But I like how this then develops into their 5 question game and how they slowly reveal parts of themselves to each other.

And I really love the reveal of what the curse entails and how it came to be. And I kind of liked that you don’t really know what kind of creature he is, and get to discover everything with Cat.

All in all, a fun little story. I’d never come across the author before this series, and would be very intrigued they venture into anymore fantasy-esque work!

Falling by Christina Lauren was an interesting little read — short, intense and full of that magical Halloween atmosphere. I really liked the premise of Brigan, an immortal cursed to walk the earth forever, and Catalina, a human who has no idea what she’s getting into when they meet at a Halloween party. What starts as a simple one-night stand quickly turns into something much deeper and more emotional and I loved the chemistry between them. The story had so much potential, though — I just wish it had been longer! It felt a bit unfinished, like we only got a glimpse into what could’ve been an amazing full-length novel. Still, I enjoyed the paranormal vibe, the bittersweet tone and that spark of forbidden connection. It was short but memorable.
