one track for multiple stories
the writing and performance is good my complaint is you can't click from one story to another it's all one track and completely frustrating. Also there is no list of contents of the download just the names of the actors performing it. ridiculous!!! I'm leaving

What a cast!
The cast of this download reads like someones dream-team! I have always loved Judi Dench, but to have her AND Jeremy Irons AND Joanna Lumley...! And to have Elaine Stritch and Donald Sinden re-teamed! I had not heard of Robert Harris before, but after I looked him up (Sir John Gielgud said that his "was the greatest voice he had ever heard") it must have been a real coup to have recorded him reading such a tragic, beautiful story. These stories are wonderful, to to have such an A+ cast reading them - perfection! The definitive collection, in my opinion.

Stories You never Outgrow
I came across these stories as a child, when I was really too young to understand them properly. I just loved the language and the imagery of them. Now, in adulthood, revisiting them has been such a joy! Beautifully narated by some of our greatest theatrical luminaries, these are stories everyone should read; stories you'll never outgrow!

magical
let me start by saying that these stories are a constant in my 40 odd years on planet Earth.
I had a beautiful picture book of some of these stories as a young child, and as a teenager and young adult I learnt to love the richness of the full version.
Hearing these stories read by supurb actors is a revelation.
Some of them are read really well, some less so, but all of them are different from how I read.
The new interpretations helped me appreciate these tales differently, and i am better for it.

Excellent bedtime stories
Would you listen to Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde again? Why?
These stories are a substitute for bedtime stories read by myself for my grandchildren.
We will listen to them together each night
Whilst some of the stories could be a little clearer and read a little slower the overall audiobook is fantastic and is a great way to keep traditional fairytales alive for a future generation

Great readings, fantastic stories.
We bought this for our son but ended up listening to it together as a family. The stories highlight Wilde's ability to craft stories in a seemingly effortless way and we were able to point aspects like the recurrence of three events in the progression of most of the stories - and this to a ten year old. If you like writing listen to this - the acting is flawless too!

Not for me
These fairytales are very repetitive in nature and many of them repeat themselves over and over. A common trend is something happening the exact same way. A bird lamenting for a rose, death punishing avarice, egoman pushing his friend around, birdhostage, soul nagging, etc.
I can't enjoy these, and I don't see how Oscar Wilde is anything unique in his writings. The morals are extremely on the nose and the writing drags.
The performance had varying audio levels. One performer I could barely hear with max volume, then proceeded by the loudest one yet making me hurt and rapidly lowering the volume.

short Stories by Oscar Wilde
I loved these short stories. They were read beautifully. All the different voices added so much to them.

Very satisfactory short listen
I had never read this quaint little work by Oscar Wilde before and I was not disappointed by it one bit. A collection of charming, blue-hued fairy tales brought to life by a stellar cast of readers.

Fairy Tales of Oscar Wilde
This is my 1st Oscar Wilde audiobook & it’s an absolutely beautiful collection of short stories. I certainly have my favourites but overall a morally thought provoking collection. I even researched university study papers so I could engage in different perspectives & challenge my own views which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will certainly listen to these stories again and continue to enjoy Oscar Wilde and all he has to offer. I also enjoyed all the narrators which brought his stories to life.
