Bloomsbury presents FDR Drive by James Comey, read by Cassandra Campbell

New York lawyer Nora Carleton faces her biggest case yet in this gripping legal thriller from the critically acclaimed author of Central Park West and former director of the FBI, James Comey.

EVEN FREE SPEECH HAS ITS PRICE.

Nora Carleton is back working as a federal prosecutor in New York, but her city is in turmoil. Extremism is on the rise, funded from the shadows and growing in momentum online, with one person in particular fanning the flames.

Radio and podcast host Samuel Buchanan uses his platform to spread disinformation and incite violence – and his mission is succeeding, with disturbances, clashes, and hate crimes rising across the country.

As the threat of a major attack grows, and a United Nations rally is targeted, it seems Nora is the only one who can stop the spread. She must successfully convince a jury that some speech should be treated as a crime – or see her country torn apart.

A powerful novel about the realities facing modern America, perfect for fans of Grisham, Connelly and Coben.

Eleştirmen yorumları

Comey's best book yet combines its vengeful skewering of a Trump proxy with social commentary and twisty courtroom combat.
A solid, satisfying read from a voice that knows the system – and its underbelly – all too well
A well-constructed and credible tale of modern America
[A] timely courtroom thriller

Loved first book - this one quite technical and the narrator would be better suited to a beach romcom. The hero has previously been through near death experiences yet there’s nothing to suggest anything other than a vanilla character. Hope the next book tightens up and delivers excitement rather than moralising

Not enough excitement

The usual clever story from Comey with unmatchable, authoritative legal detail. Quite an education. Very much an author for today’s troubled world.

Good, contemporary story

I really enjoyed the first two books, but I just couldn't get in to this one. Not sure if it was the performance or just the way it was written but I found it really dull and "on the nose".

Too Slow
