Enjoy listening.

This is a great book for a beginner to start with. My son, nephew, and I are just getting into backpacking, and this book has provided me with some very good information. I am a planner by profession so I have a decent sense of setting forth a good plan. However, this book has brought several things to my attention that I may not have thought of or even overlooked.

It is the correct size to be a backpackers manual.

It is the correct size to be a backpackers manual. It has a lot of information and even first aid charts! It is what I was looking for in a book like this. I can honestly say it has good information and tips. If you are a backpacker, this is a must-have.

Great audiobook!

This audiobook of the list for the things you should take when you go camping. The book wastes no time and just right for remembering those necessities for any camping trip, hike, cookout, or outdoor experience. I tend to have certain "go to" tools when I camp. This book has caused me to look at alternatives. The references provided allow me to search online for details if I need to investigate a new idea further. Recommended.

Best for newbie.

What a concise method of communicating to the listener. Explaining not only WHAT to take Camping, Hiking, and Backpacking, but WHY you should take each item and HOW to use it! As someone who is a novice camper, I was totally awestruck and impressed at the amount of thought that went into this book.

Best for all guys.

I found this audiobook to be a good refresher course, as well as a good source of tips and tricks to make adventuring easier. The section on food packing and prep was helpful and has given me a few ideas to try on our next family camping trip. Much of it seems commonplace to more experienced outdoorsy-types, but I would highly recommend this to a novice, as it thoroughly covers a wide range of topics. And also this audiobook for all beginners.

This book has everything you need to get started.

This book has everything you need to get started with camping, and more! it talks about everything you need to have a successful outing while camping, backpacking, or hiking. I like the way it is laid out in the book....from the trivial things that some may not think are important but are good reminders, to various methods to accomplish something.

Good job.

This is a great book to get you started backpacking. I have done a lot of small day or half day hikes but I have never backpacked before. My first three-day backpack adventure starts in three weeks. This book has helped a lot in my planning.

Useful book.

This book will give you more elaborate ways to make your camping a memorable and enjoyable one later on. Know what you can do to avoid some of the typical mistakes some campers encounter because they lacked planning. Putting up some recipes that are best to prepare during the camping period is what you can also like in this book. You can cross that out on your list on what food to plan since the book has done it for you and you can always do some add-on. Plus, play camping games in this book.
