About this listen

Chicago is gripped by terror. The Sweet 16 Killer is brutally murdering young women, and the authorities are baffled.

When the police are called to an affluent home in the middle of the night, they learn a seemingly normal 14-year-old boy has attacked his family. The boy exhibits signs of demonic possession, and even more troublingly, he knows too much about the Sweet 16 killings. Father Jason Crowder, a young priest assigned to the case, must marshal his courage in order to save the boy and the entire city from the forces of evil.

But this is a darkness mankind has never encountered before. It craves more than blood. And it won’t rest until it possesses Father Crowder’s soul.

Jonathan Janz’s brand-new release brings the original novella that started it all - Exorcist Road - and a brand-new full-length novel (Exorcist Falls) together for a shattering experience in supernatural terror.

Critic reviews

"One of the best writers in modern horror to come along in the last decade. Janz is one of my new favorites." (Brian Keene, author)

Exorcist Falls begins with the novella 'Exorcist Road' which I felt was Jonathan Janz's homage to William Peter Blatty's 'The Exorcist'. However, rather than a psychological build-up towards the climactic exorcism (as in Blatty's novel), Janz opens the story with the exorcism and follows how the aftermath of that exorcism unravels across the lives of everyone involved. Paired with the brutal murders being carried out by the mysterious 'Sweet Sixteen' killer, this story delves into the different kind of evils that exist in our world. If you're a fan of supernatural horrors, then you won't be disappointed by this book.

A gritty tale of beyond an exorcism

This is a fantastic book but some stuff doesn't make sense for instance early on there's 2 copper's 1 commit's suicide with his gun & 1 of the priest's kill's the other 1 but nothing's done about either crime it's something I couldn't get past The storyline is very good & the narration is great everything I love 💙is in here I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoy's horror stories your sure to enjoy this 📖

Exorcist Falls is made up of two stories; the novella Exorcist Road and its sequel Exorcist Falls.

It really is a tale of two halves. Exorcist Road is a tightly plotted horror story populated with great characters, a few gruesome set pieces, and a wicked ending. It's very well written and would make an excellent movie.

Exorcist Falls, the sequel to Exorcist Road, is boring mess filled with annoying characters, a paper thin plot, and groan inducing prose. Everything that made the novella so great is pumped up to twenty here, but more does not equal better.

In fact, it's a slog to get through, and the twist at the end can be seen from a mile away. Janz would have been better off leaving Exorcist Road as a standalone novel. Not everything needs a sequel.

Great performance of a so-so novel
