Summary
Nomad was explosive. This is nuclear....
The new thriller from internationally best-selling author James Swallow.
Move over Jason Bourne, Marc Dane is here....
A vicious Serbian gang whose profits come from fake nuclear weapons. A disgraced Russian general, with access to the real thing. A vengeful Somali warlord, with a cause for which he'd let the world burn. A jaded government agency, without the information to stop him. Only one man sees what's coming. And even he might not be able to prevent it....
Racing breathlessly from uncharted CIA prisons to the skyscrapers of Dubai, from stormbeaten oil rigs off the African coast to the ancient caverns beneath the city of Naples, Marc Dane returns in the incredible new action thriller from the internationally best-selling author of Nomad.

great!
Both books have been brilliant.
Great story lines.
Loved the narrator.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for the next one.

A Good Read
This second book was lacking slightly for me, I really enjoyed book one and looking forward to book three. Book two - Exile was just that little bit too far fetched in places. No matter how fit you are and how lucky you are, you and your colleagues wouldn't come out of this alive!! All said and done - it's a book and hopefully not too much is taken from real life!

Good Book. Not quite as good as the first book..
Good Book. Not quite as good as the first book, (Nomad)
Its still a good read, has pace, and stories just fine. perhaps a bit drawn out over 16 1/2 hours.
But you are getting value for money I guess, I will no doubt read the third book as well in time..

Action packed sequel
Great sequel and wonderful narration. Mark Dane is a great character and the interplay with old friend is always engaging. Definitely read Nomad first.

Disappointing sequal.
I loved Nomad but this follow up seems to have lost its way a little, at least for my tastes. The performance was great as always, but the story seems to become akin to something from the Fast and Furious franchise, action segments beyond belief and corney dialogue left me detached from the characters.

Even better than book 1
I didn’t think book 1 could be bettered but this book did it. James Swallow is a brilliant writer and Colin Mace brings all his words to life

Perfunctory.
It was OK, but only OK. Farfetched, but that is common in this genre. I would have preferred it if it was /slightly/ more plausible. Yes, we want some pace and some action, but perhaps it needs more suspense. The team are funded by a billionaire... why are they constrained to only two agents all the time, when the bad guys are legion?
Will I read the next installment? maybe but I'm not sure.

High Tech, High Octane Thriller
I think, by now, we all know what to expect in a Marc Dane thriller and this novel delivers those Bourne like thrills in abundance. Yes, our hero is made of Teflon and yes he needs to get his love life in order as well as his private life but give him a break, he's busy saving the world again. Superbly narrated, this is best listened to in big chunks but don't analyse the plot too deeply. It is what it is - a modern glossy thriller that has clearly got 'film me' written all over it. Just buckle up and enjoy the ride!
