High Schooler Silas is under attack from a high school bully. Ben rescues Silas after his bully decides to take it too far, and Silas freezes.

The characters are well-defined, and you can relate to them easily.

The narration by Nick Newport was clear and precise; this is the first book I've listened to by this narrator, and I only had to speed up to 1.20 on audible.

This book broke my heart and then put it back together. Silas and Ben were both so relatable and their story was so emotional. I loved them as individuals and I loved their friendship. They were absolutely adorable together. I loved their banter and their flirting. Mostly I loved how they took care of each other. This was an amazing first book. I cannot wait to read the rest of their story. I adored every minute of this audiobook and I highly recommend it. it's a stunning coming of age story. And the narrator brought it to life beautifully.

I wasn’t certain what to expect as I generally associate Nikole with her paranormal menage dark series. This book was certainly not that.

It also wasn’t an easy book. It begins with an attempted assault and that spectre looms large over the entire story. This book is told almost entirely from Silas’s point of view and I really liked the sassy young man. He’s bold, funny, and completely besotted with the gorgeous but enigmatic Ben – his rescuer. But Ben’s straight and Silas, for all his foibles, isn’t chasing after a straight guy.

Except, the more time they spend together, the harder Silas is falling.

I loathed high school, and always find listening to books in that setting as traumatic. But good writing both puts me right back in there and keeps me grounded in my own much happier world. This is a great book.

I wasn’t familiar with Nick Newport, but he was the perfect narrator for this book and I enjoyed all of it. There’s more to come, and I can’t wait.

The story was good, for its intended audience. The young men are dealing with harsh realities of life, pretty much alone, and in high school - somehow they become friends. These guys have it rough, but this is the start of a good young romance series.
The narrator is new to me, and other than a bit of a stilted or halting delivery at times, he did great with the performance & emotions, sound effects too. Good job all around

An emotional yet heartbreaking story that kept me hooked from beginning to end.

This is the first time I’ve listened to Nick Newport and I wasn’t disappointed with his performance. Another narrator to add to my favourite list.
