Summary

If God is in control of everything, does that mean the Christian can sit back and not bother to evangelize? Or does active evangelism simply imply that God is not sovereign at all? J.I. Packer shows in this classic study how false both these attitudes are. In a careful review of the biblical evidence, he shows how a right understanding of God's sovereignty is not so much a barrier to evangelism as an incentive and powerful support for it.

Great book!

Very encouraging for evangelism. And I love the clarification of the relationship between sovereignty and responsibility.

Most excellent!

I was very impressed with how plainly written, yet exceedingly rich this book was. I would highly recommend it to anybody confused about the necessity of evangelism while also maintaining that God is sovereign over His creation.

God is sovereign, BUT we are still to share/pray!

Packer is inspiring in his challenge to us to share the good news and pray!

Both Biblical and Balanced!

Packer has once again delivered an expose which is most helpful precisely because it is both Biblical and balanced. All students of Scripture and personal evangelism would do well to carefully consider this most valuable work.

Timeless

This book was very helpful to me after being recommended by one of the elders of my Church. I doubt this will be the only reading of this book. surely I've missed more than I caught and I caught quite a bit.
