I only stumbled upon this because l recognized a good narrator It was wonderful I was so engaged with the characters and storyline the ending broke my heart I loved everything about it I'm devastated l finished it Brilliant

I had high hopes for this as I am a fan of historical fiction and it had good reviews. But the story line, albeit set in Mussolini's Italy starting just before WwII, was trite and predictable and naive. Read like an afternoon special with Italian accents.
