Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Can she find her recipe for happiness?

Del and her husband Ollie moved to a beautiful village in Provence for a fresh start after years of infertility struggles. But six weeks after they arrive, they’re packing the removal van once more. As Del watches the van leave for England, she suddenly realises exactly what will make her happier…a new life in France – without Ollie.

Now alone, all Del has is a crumbling farmhouse, a mortgage to pay and a few lavender plants. What on earth is she going to do? Discovering an old recipe book at the market run by the rather attractive Fabian, Del starts to bake. But can her new-found passion really help her let go of the past and lead to true happiness?

A heart-warming tale about reclaiming your life, set amongst the lavender fields of Provence. Perfect escapism from the author of Late Summer in the Vineyard and The Honey Farm on the Hill.

I just loved this book, it is my second book by this author and I have just downloaded 3 more, the descriptions of the places and the characters just draw you in. A perfect escape.

Feel good feeling

This author is new to me. I bought the book on a 2 for 1. I am so pleased I did .It’s a lovely story with a great main character. An uplifting tale of good intentions and an evocative description of life in a French village. Will buy more by this author.

nice story all neatly tied up in the last 30mins

I don't really rate the narration style, she didn't really add much in the way of emotion or feelings. it was just read out really. The story however was nice and an easy listen. Some of the ways Del dealt with matters and how she saw things was a bit hard to grasp. i.e. she didn't really dwell on her feelings after her husband left and then felt bereft for asking Steph if she stole the money - with good reason I add - but Steph was completely upset and left. an overreaction but all that aside it was lovely to live in the lavender scented farmhouse with rosè being drunk every lunchtime and romance budding everywhere. I'd have liked to dwell on the romance more but the other storylines were good also. The 'clearing' was a nice addition.

overall enjoyable especially as a summer getaway

waste of a credit

I was really looking forward to reading this as I'd loved another novel by the same author. However this was so boring I abandoned it two hours from the end.

Not sure …

I listened to this book because of Anna Acton. I liked some of the performances in books of her before.
This book is also ok. But a bit too much overthinking, self-doubt and worry in there for my liking.
