The narrator became irritating towards the end of the book - felt he missed the opportunity for creating tension and suspense. I actually couldn’t wait for the end of the book because of this. Story was good although the ending was a tad sudden and lame. Was it worth a credit? Hmmmmm

The reality of it all

The story itself was good - a little predictable but technically interesting and somewhat thought-provoking in terms of Earth’s future. However, as many have said, the narration almost ruined it. Crichton deserves a re-record of this, his posthumous book.

Worst narration - reasonable story

There's nothing much wrong with the book itself, although the volcano facts and figures feel shoehorned into the action.

However, there's no escaping the fact that the reading is extraordinarily poor, stumbling over words and phrases with strange nonsensical pauses throughout. This makes for a really painful listen.

Weirdly inept reading

The story started strong but got weaker as it went along with a disappointing ending.
The narration was pretty bad and lots of words tripped over.

Poorly narrated

Disappointed from start to finish. So predictable, lazy descriptions, no twists or genuine feel for any characters. Really did few like a script for a straight to tv movie, including the names of Celebrity actors that could play the roles.
The narrator does strange pauses in most sentences, as if turning the page and not know what was coming next. How wasn’t this noticed?
First time I have written a review, felt I needed to pass this on! Not worth a credit.
