Summary
After many years of exploration, Diana Richardson found that the ancient practice of Tantra, with its unique, intelligent approach to sex, had the effect of enhancing intimacy and deepening love. Here, she has adapted Tantra for modern Western lovers in a practical, sympathetic way. Tantric sex can transform your experience into a more sensual, loving, and fulfilling one.
First published in 2003, the best-selling Heart of Tantric Sex has become the standard in its field.
Contains mature themes.

Changed my life
As a guy reading this the whole thing makes sense to me. And since I have listened to this audiobook I have become more honest with my partner, become more aware of my lack of knowledge of my own body and I have started to become more conscious during sex. This is not a hook up book! This is a book on love, real satisfying sex and a guide that should be given to everyone before they should ever start having sex!

Everyone needs to listen
This is a must read. I learnt so much. I cannot believe how conditioned we are, and how we are all loving each other wrongly. I will share this book with many people and hope it has a ripple effect

Totally homophobic.
"sex is the perfect union between male and female" BORING and offensive. I can't believe people are still even allowed to write this stuff.

great information
the narrator was a little hard to get used to at the start but once I got hooked into the great information in the book then that quickly went away. great insights, already starting to practice. I feel I will but the physical book to keep too

Essential reading for the first half.
A majority of the first half regarding men I had already discovered or invented on my own. It transformed sex when I invented it, and it is a good sign that this book describes it correctly.
The details on female tantric properties were complete news to me and I wish I had known them sooner. I experimented with the idea of poles and the breasts/heart as a center for sexual energy with a new woman and it seems to hold true in my currently limited experience.
The story gets 3 stars because the author spends the rest of the book having poorly supported opinions and making spurious connections. It does describe things from her perspective, but these observations really only track if you have a similar history of sexual experience as her. I think there is a lot of unconscious bias that drives her conclusions and I think she ventures a little out of her depth in the remaining half to two-thirds of the book.

Some bad advice
She advises putting a condom on BEFORE the penis is erect. That is simply bad advice. There is nothing, zilch about sex between gay or lesbian lovers and the lack of acknowledgement that this even occurs kind of implies a perspective that that gay sex is wrong. I also think it is not good for gender non conforming people because there is a lot of stereo types about men and women that seems uncompromising. It seems to imply that women usually aren't in the mood for sex but men always are which again is a stereo type. I am a women with a very high sex drive and it is usually me who instigates sex with my lovers. I am pretty much always up for it! She also states that almost all women love their breasts being touched. I do like my breasts being touch but I know other women who are really not into that and according to her that part of tantric sex is intrinsic I don't think it's healthy to push people into doing things sexually that they really don't like or enjoy.
There was nothing about the chakras or spiritual energies and Kundalini is only mentioned once in passing. It felt like it was put in a way that she believed western people would get but it actually just felt like it was lacking something fundamental.
I am not interested in reading another book on tantric sex just to compare them because I wonder if other books have similar short comings.

a must read for any tantric students
Beautifully read and full of insight, I study Tantra for 5 years and loved all the practical information and calling things by its name instead of going around the bushes. Loved it. Highly recommended.
