What a thrilling first book this was. I am waiting eagerly for the next book in the series and I will get it, as soon as I can get it...
Would you consider the audio edition of River's Run to be better than the print version?
You can't compare I loved them both very much.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved River's character. A smart and capable women who rescues the men ... lol. Definitely one of the best female leads created.
What does Samantha Cook bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Samantha's interpretation of the book was truly inspiring she brought the book to life and gave it just a little more realism.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When they describe how River's parents died and how it affected her. Brought a tear to my eye.
Any additional comments?
I love S.E. Smiths books she's one of my favorite authors and I can't get enough reading material. So far I've read everything to date and she's yet to let me down. I have no hesitation recommending her as an author, you'll enjoy her books.

I like S E Smiths stories.
This one was like the others with exception of the narrator. The men sounded weak. The girls all the same.

For starters, this was the dumbest book that I've listened to so far. Ms Smith might be a good author but this wouldn't be an example of that. It was like a 10th grader wrote it, a very precocious 10th grader. It would have been a 1 star for sure if it wasn't for the naughty bits. Honestly, I was listening while waiting for a flight in the gate area of my local airport, surrounded by the good people of Michigan. The narrator began reading the first sex scene and it made me giggle and blush! Ms Smith has quite an imagination! The narrator has a pleasant voice but was a bit monotone. I think some of the racier scenes could have used a little more emotion.Well, anyhow, I was able to make it to the end but I don't think I will listen to the next one.

Fun if you want fluff, but don't expect a deep plot. characters are a bit too stereotypical and lack true development. Overall plot is basic and very predictable.

First off, I usually love S.E. Smith books. I really wanted to like this book but the male character took alpha male way to far. He was too bossy and controlling. If someone locked me in my room for a few days I would not stay with them, no matter the circumstances. I hoped that the alpha male would eventually change into a more likeable character but he never did.
Also, this book was like alien romance meets fifty shades of gray. I probably would have enjoyed it more if the hero wasn’t such an a-hole.

Loved the book and getting to listen to it too! Samantha did almost as good of a job reading it out loud as the voice in my head did when I read it!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I have no idea
What could S.E. Smith have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I really like a lot of her books, but this one was too much. Who knew all the way across the galaxy, aliens used butt plugs, nipple clamps, and floggers? Oh my goodness! I was yelling about how stupid that was. The story had some promise, but was ruined by the monotone, non emotional, narration; and the BDSM ridiculousness.
What didn’t you like about Samantha Cook’s performance?
Very bad! There was no appropriate emotion in her voice. Like I said, they could have hired Ben Stein doing his monotone voice.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Frustration.
Any additional comments?
I would like to know more of the story, but never will order an audio of these books again. That way I can skip all the stupid stuff and stick to the plot. I wanted to see how this series may tie into some of the other ones S.E. Smith has written. Should have listened to the other reviews.

I have the book and audio loved it the book and audio allows you to slide right in and become part of it
i love her books i cant wait for more to come out . you are the best
I enjoyed this human/alien story (strong human female/bossy aristocratic alien male), but there were a few things that caught my attention as is not well written. For instance there is a point in the story where the dialogue of the characters is repeating what the narration just said I believe this happens a few different times. One occasion it was about a paragraph of the narration was immediately repeated.
Overall good story, great narration and I'm looking forward to book two.
River was so awesome as a warrior woman . Listening to her take out the aliens who abducted her friends was so cool ! I laughed at some of the ways she was able to out think them . When she killed the first alien was priceless . The author was able to capture my attention from the very beginning and held it till the very end . Only one thing would have been better is if the story had been longer but I expect that the next book in the series will give me more insight! If you like a sexy tell of alien love then this book is for you . The intrigue is worth buying this audiobook .
