Lana can't remember a time when she wasn't hopelessly in love with Akira. Even knowing that he viewed her as a kid sister had never helped to dampen her feelings. One night together only made it worse. After seducing Akira, it became apparent that their love affair was hopelessly one-sided, and heartbroken, Lana fled her beloved island paradise. Eight years later, Lana finally returns home, planning to stay briefly, and only for business, but her plans go quickly awry when she runs into the man she could never get over.
Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville - at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade ring in my ears every time a towns-person brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again. Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons - sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer.
My relationship with Hunter Delucia started backwards. We met at a wedding—him sitting on the groom’s side, me sitting on the bride’s. Stealing glances at each other throughout the night, there was no denying an intense, mutual attraction. I caught the bouquet; he caught the garter. Hunter held me tightly while we danced and suggested we explore the chemistry sparking between us. His blunt, dirty mouth should’ve turned me off. But for some crazy reason, it had the opposite effect on me. We ended up back in my hotel room. The next morning, I headed home to New York leaving him behind in California with the wrong number. I thought about him often, but after my last relationship, I’d sworn off of charming, cocky, gorgeous-as-sin men. A year later, Hunter and I met again at the birth of our friends’ baby. Our attraction hadn't dulled one bit. After a whirlwind trip, he demanded a real phone number this time. So I left him with my mother’s—she could scare away any man with her talks of babies and marriage—and flew back home. I’d thought it was funny, until the following week when he rang the bell at Mom’s house for Sunday night dinner. The crazy, gorgeous man had won over my mother and taken an eight-week assignment in my city. He proposed we spend that time screwing each other out of our systems. Eight weeks of mind-blowing sex with no strings attached? What did I have to lose?

I'm going to break his heart, but mine will shatter right along with it. Will we lose it all when I reveal what's beneath this mask?
Enter Hayes Whitley. Mega-movie star. The man who has captured the hearts of millions. But I gave him mine years ago. He was my first love. He was my everything. Right until he up and left to chase his dreams without so much as a simple goodbye. When he showed up out of the blue 10 years later, I should have known to steer clear. I'm writing this letter because it's highly doubtful I'll ever garner the courage to say this to your face. So, here goes. We're totally wrong for each other. You're the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I'm just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England. But here's the thing... for some bloody reason, I can't stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
What's mine, I keep, and that includes Keira Kilgore. It's no longer enough to have her in my debt. No longer enough to own her body. I want something more. She can try to resist, but I'll never give her up. Nothing will keep us apart. Not her. Not my enemies. No one. Her debt will only be paid one way - with her heart.
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn't exactly make a good impression. I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date. He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice. So I told him to mind his own damn business and went back to my miserable date. I couldn't help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room. Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.
There was a time when surgeon Kian Forbes would have surrendered every cent of his vast family fortune if it could make Roxie Gilbert happy. That was before she skipped town, broke his heart, and sent him spinning through a string of forgettable one-night stands. He never even knew he'd fathered a child - with Roxie's sister, no less. But in the wake of tragedy, little Lily needs a home. And Kian wants his daughter. But Roxie's not giving in or giving up without a fight.
The Impact
Tristan hit rock bottom, and no one felt the impact harder than Danika. She was forced to see, in the most brutal of ways, that love does not conquer all. Bruised, bloody, and broken, she had to walk away.
The Aftermath
Picking up the pieces of your life after a tragedy is a daunting prospect, and that's considering you still own all of the pieces. But what if you don't? What if someone else owns those pieces, and those pieces are a part of your soul? You dig deep and work with what you've got. That's what Danika told herself and believed, every single day, for years. Tristan and Danika's love had failed every test that life had thrown at them. She couldn't forget that, not for one second. And if those tests had been overly harsh, well, she wasn't one to wallow in self-pity. The failure was the thing she had to focus on. The failure was the lesson. She had no intention of working so hard to make it out of hell without learning that lesson well.
The Reunion
Over six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan's company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It's been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There'd been a reason she'd gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad. She shocks herself by quickly giving in to a hunger that she never imagined could still consume her. Even the best intentioned denial has a breaking point.
This book is intended for readers 18 and up.

brilliant loved all three books
There are not many love stories that can pull you in, grip your heart, tear it apart and then sew it all back together like this one. OMG! I have been obsessed with this book (3rd & last in series) as it brought Tristan and Danika home.
So, entering this last book you already know that Tristan and Danika have been separated for 6 years. Now, I thought they had NO contact during those years, and that made me resentful, but I was dead wrong. While Tristan worked on his sobriety, he never lost sight of her....and I loved that (of course Danika never lost sight of him either). This 3rd book tells a story of two people who never let go of each other, even when they were separated.
In this book, Tristan and Danika move toward each other like magnets, but the push was initiated by Tristan. He set himself on a mission to win her back and I ADORED how he did it! He was cunning, he was sexy, he was resourceful, sympathetic, sensitive, tender, assertive, relentless and so dam loving! Tristan is still the same man, but he definitely had a better reign on his caveman tendencies (I mean he only beat one of Danika's suitors this time), he communicated his feelings so well and he simply loved Danika with every part of him...he loved her like a starving man who had been without sustenance for too long. Danika also matured. She had always been stunning, but now she was more grown up with a polished elegance, yet the same gift for words. I admired Danika like no other heroine. She handled her casualties with grace and fortitude, and when she directed her healing words toward Tristan, well it was no wonder why the man could never give her up.
I have to say something about the biotches who came out of the wood work to disturb Danika, and try and steal Tristan from her....they were IRRELEVANT and INCONSEQUENTIAL...they didn't even come close to touching the power and strength of Tristan and Danika's bond (even though they annoyed the hell out of me). I must add, Danika handled them like a charm.
Since I was obsessed with this book, I could go on and on, but I just have to say that it was awesome to see all of the surrounding characters from the Up In The Air series get their HEAs as well. Yet, the ending of this book was absolutely amazing and so touching. Out of all of the things life had taken away from Tristan and Danika, they came away as champions with so much more than they had lost, and that's saying something. Their love story will stay with me forever......
Narrators: The narrators were excellent: Chris Ruen with his sexy voice, and Sarah N. with her incredible talent at conveying deep emotion...Needless to say, I was impressed. The only complaint is that Sarah N. kept mispronouncing Stephan's name as she pronounced it as "Steven."--Come on! Otherwise, everything was perfect!

This story broke my heart and then put it all back together again! So incredibly good. I've been eyeing this whole series for some time and I'm so so glad I finally got it! Don't waste time like I did, GET IT NOW!!
Tristan and Danika's story is one of the most romantic, tragic, emotionally captivating, and HOT reads I've had the pleasure to enjoy. I'd give it 10+ stars if I could.

Would you listen to Lovely Trigger again? Why?
I loved this series and will listen again. It is a great series and I think this was my favorite book of the series. Very well written and the narration was great!
Who was your favorite character and why?
I have to pick? I liked both Danika and Tristan. Danika is a very strong women who loves with everything she has. She lived through some devastating circumstances and came out even stronger. Tristan is what every woman wants from a man. Dedicated to the woman he loves. Tristan tries hard to make amends and to heal his relationship with Danika even though she fights him at every turn. A difficult fight when he doesn't know all that has transpired. I loved them both.
Which character – as performed by Chris Ruen and Sarah Naughton – was your favorite?
Chris Ruen has a great voice. I loved listening to him as Tristan. In saying that, Sarah Naughton does an exceptional job herself as Danika. I just really loved Mr. Ruen's voice.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
OH YES I did have extreme reactions. I tend to listen to audio books while I'm doing other things when I can not read. I kayak a lot and listen to these books frequently. There were areas in this book that I had to stop what I was doing and listen because I was practically holding my breath until I found out what would happen. There were several areas that I cried and there were a couple of times Danika and Tristan's games made me chuckle....for instance the dick pic....can't beat that one! hehehehehe
Any additional comments?
This is a great well written series. I highly recommend it.

What did you love best about Lovely Trigger?
You wanted Tristan and Danika to get together. They were explosive and there was always something ridiculous and unexpected happening. So many things took place in this book. So much love, hate and craziness you couldn't stop listening! So many twists and turns.
What other book might you compare Lovely Trigger to and why?
Bared to you by Sylvia Day. Really good character depth, growth and attraction. A definite must read!
Which character – as performed by Chris Ruen and Sarah Naughton – was your favorite?
Tristan of course. He was a sexy hot head that made so many crazy choices you fell in love with him and wanted to see him get the girl but there was always something in their way.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh yeah!

Tristan and Danika have suffered for so long they don’t know which way is up. I feel like this was a long time coming and wish that their suffering had turned around earlier in the book but then I guess it would be a different story. I am totally hooked on anything R.K. Lilley writes. She has a way to taking tortured souls and finding their inner strength and proving that there is someone out there for everyone. I liked that Danika became more than a babysitter and really used her brains. This gave her a little more of an edge in this book and not so much of a follower. Tristan finally gets over himself and learns that he needs to grow up. It took him long enough to figure this out. This book ends their journey together and leaves you feeling satisfied with no missing pieces.

Well, where do I start…I guess by saying that I have only come across a small handful of authors who are able to write with such passion that the story I am listening to draws me into the world of the characters at such a depth that I feel every emotion described or portrayed. I have cried, sobbed really, laughed; my heart has palpitated with anxiety, felt the depression and despair, the hopelessness and hopefulness. I felt the anger when there was anger, disgust and compassion for an addiction that so often sucks the goodness out of life and oh yeah, that ever demoralizing monster of codependency.
Whew, this trilogy was an emotional roller coaster that was exhausting but well worth the sleepless nights and neglect of everyday mundane chores that would only serve to draw my attention away from seeing how this all played out.
RK Lilley you truly are a remarkable writer. You are one of the best and I look forward to whatever you decide to grace us with next. Thank you.

ALL I CAN SAY IS WOWWWWWWWWW.
One of my goodread babes told me that this series was one of the few that actually got BETTER with each book and she was right!!!!!! Lovely Trigger BLEW MY MIND!!!!! SOOO much emotion, SOOO much love!
Book 3 in the Danika and Tristan series explains different moments in the 6 years that the two spent apart until finally in the 6th year the two are faced with each other and decisions to make. No matter how much Danika tried, she would always be Tristans and Tristan would always be hers. These two face many problems when re-hashing their past and trying to move forward. Will these two be able to move past their losses and love each other again? Will the fact that danika can no longer conceive a child keep Danika and Tristan apart?
TRUST ME THIS IS WORTH THE READ!!! THIS STORY IS SO BEAUTIFULLLLL!!!

The last book Blew my Mind And Soul... I thought there was no way back for these two. My emotions were set at High buy with R.K. Lilley's writing skills i began to believe in Hope... Tristan hit rock bottom, and no one felt the impact harder than Danika. She was forced to see, in the most brutal of ways, that love does not conquer all. Bruised, bloody, and broken she had to walk away... Tristan and Danika’s love had failed every test that life had thrown at them. She couldn't forget that, not for one second. And if those tests had been overly harsh, well, she wasn't one to wallow in self-pity. The failure was the thing she had to focus on. The failure was the lesson. She had no intention of working so hard to make it out of hell without learning that lesson well.
SPOILER ALERT - Over six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan’s company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It’s been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There’d been a reason she’d gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad... She shocks herself by quickly giving in to a hunger that she never imagined could still consume her... Even the best intentional denial has a breaking point.
R.K. Lilley is one of my “I will buy everything she publishes” authors. She creates characters that stay with you and move you. Characters so flawed yet so perfect. Tristan Vega is a royal mess, of epic proportions. However, beneath the mess is a man that you just want to win and thrive. A man that, when healed would be any woman’s ideal. He is strong, he is sweet, he is a bit territorial, he’s all those things that make a woman tingle in all the right places... :)

Must read for all romance fanatics...the best I’ve heard👍❤️👌I laughed with them...cried with them...became a part of this beautifully broken couple
