Audible Editor Reviews

This acclaimed collection of erotic fiction by African American women writers is a rare find: both hot and intelligent. Stories from respected and popular writers like Valerie Wilson Wesley, Bertise Berry, Tananarive Due, and Diane McKinney-Whetstone experience a rich, sensual narration from Christy Clark. Listeners will discover that these creative tales, which run the gamut from fantasy to real-life recollection, inspire them to explore new territory in both their imaginations and their love lives. By turns literate and titillating, Best Black Women's Erotica is an example of sex writing at its best.

"Sooo Tired of the Struggle -- Really Rape?"
Would you try another book from Blanche Richardson and/or Christy Clark?

What could Blanche Richardson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The story of being black and a woman doesn't begin in slavery; it doesn't begin at struggle. Sometimes I am simultaneously black, a woman and okay. I'm not a victim of circumstance or mired in the cares of the day. I was hoping for some escapism in this book and it starts out from sentence one as a disappointment on this front. Starting a book of erotica with a brutal rape is EXTREMELY OFF-PUTTING.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Any additional comments?

Please find some black women's erotica that doesn't start with a brutal rape. Black women want positive fantasies too. Geez.

    "Fantasy, Heat, and Heart"

This is the ONLY first-rate collection of back women’s erotica.

I’ve been reading, editing, and writing erotica for thirty years, and this is the only collection where each and every story has mystery and honesty in the writing as well as being crazy sexy.

Talented writers like Bertice Berry, and Zane bringing fantasy, heat, and heart.

Christy Clark does a bang-up job reading this collection, bringing the smolder without pushing it into camp.
