About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Eric is the Discworld's only demonology hacker. Pity he's not very good at it.

All he wants is his three wishes granted.Nothing fancy - to be immortal, rule the world, have the most beautiful woman in the world fall madly in love with him, the usual stuff.

But instead of a tractable demon, he calls up Rincewind, probably the most incompetent wizard in the universe, and the extremely intractable and hostile form of travel accessory known as the Luggage.

With them on his side, Eric's in for a ride through space and time that is bound to make him wish (quite fervently) again - this time that he'd never been born.

Critic reviews

'Like Jonathan Swift, Pratchett uses his other world to hold up a distorting mirror to our own, and like Swift he is a satirist of enormous talent ... incredibly funny ... compulsively readable'

'The great Terry Pratchett, whose wit is metaphysical, who creates an energetic and lively secondary world, who has a multifarious genius for strong parody ... who deals with death with startling originality. Who writes amazing sentences'

(A.S. Byatt)

'His spectacular inventiveness makes the Discworld series one of the perennial joys of modern fiction'

Most boring reviews you'll ever find summed up in three words....TERRY PRATCHETT LEGEND! Don't bother reading my reviews for his other books, they're the same!

for fans of disc world, can get no better. a ironic and fantastical prachett approach to faust. Rincewind at his peak, unfortunately I feel he gets tired and overused after this book. Eric is great, again exploiting the funny literal in a teenager with power. and the only book with the creator. One of the few with chapters, even though not explicitly said, feels likes coherent short stories. very, very, good.

disc world at its best.

Its worth listening to this just to hear Tony Robinson pronounce the demons name. Enjoyed the audiobook, shame its abridged, but definitely recommend.

Great book!

In Eric, I found that I couldn't quite follow the begging but despite this I really enjoyed the rest and I think it was read very well.

I would recommend this to a friend as I know I really enjoyed it and most of my friends like many of the sort of things I do.

Tony Robinson brings the words to life and keeps me gripped right up to the end. Shame it is abridged. Would love to here him read a full version
