Summary

Scout from North England describes the moment that caused her to deeply question how others perceive her – and how different it may be to the way she presents and understands herself. It’s a journey through her mental health – and what an impact labels can have on our sense of self.

Insane Wack Job... Disgusting Reviews WHY?

I have completely been shocked by peoples reviews I reported the one that said "why don't we use the word insane she's clearly a Whack job" What are these reviewers expecting. People saying boring people saying waiting for something to happen. What are you what were you expecting?

This was someone's life they were talking about how when they realised they were going to be perceived differently. I can't believe people didn't understand it.

The same ignorant reviewer that stated she was clearly a Whack job also showed shock and stated this that she had boyfriends then was in a relationship with a women.

Have some decorum and a little bit of respect this persons life was not here for your excitement but to inform. I found it really good and interesting. I'm really happy that she found empathy that she believed she didn't have by way of love and her child. Good on you.

I have mental health and if I was called a whack job I'd look at that person with disgust and contempt. How dare they.

Terrible music and effects.

The story was very good, A personal and deeply felt emotional tail, spoiled by the sound design, terrible music and effects.

Why don't people use the word insane?

I struggled to find any empathy for person in story because she's clearly a wack job.
Did anyone else double take when she suddenly stopped having boyfriends and then suddenly had a wife and a baby?

So, what was the moment that changed everything?

So, what was the moment that changed everything? Was it the episode on the stairs? Was it finding a partner that trusted her? Was it having a child and so understanding spontaneous empathy?
Awful sound effects.

sound effects are offensive & take away from the story

Brave story and very heavy material, but involving listening if you have an interest in mental health. The sound effects however were totally over the top to the point of being offensive. She is talking about her real life struggle with her disorder and the addition of echoing voices and ‘psycho’ style sound effects makes an important issue sound like a pantomime or horror story.

Sound effects slowed it down - get on with it!

I could have enjoyed this story, but the sound effects were too distracting and destroyed the momentum of the story. I do not need the story to be suspended while I listen to a few seconds of a kettle boiling. I won't listen to any more episodes as a result

What was the point of all that?
It didn't make sense, it went nowhere and...well...?!?

Boring!

What a boring story! No beginning, middle, nor end. I hope the other episodes are better!

Anticlimactic

Spent the whole way through building tension as if something shocking was going to happen and nothing did, ended with a whimper, very disappointed.

Honest, revealing and true.

The intelligence and honesty of Scout really kept me listening. I hope the rest of the series is as engaging.
