**DAILY MAIL BOOK OF THE WEEK**

Soon to be an AppleTV+ series, this is the definitive account of how Enzo Ferrari became the master of motor racing, and one of the most complex, important and imposing figures in the 20th century.

The book draws upon years of original research, conducted in Italy and abroad, and unveils hidden aspects of Ferrari's career - from his early days as a racer, to how he founded the Ferrari company, and even his dealings with the Italian Fascist government and Communist leaders.

Learn how Ferrari pushed his drivers to the brink of disaster, revolutionised the automobile industry and overcame family and company infighting on his rise to greatness.

A book for enthusiasts - of cars, engines and the crazy world of racing drivers and their victories and defeats in the twentieth century.
Heavily researched.
Definitive.

Very strong on (too much?) detail. Lists of names and dates, etc. But lacking insight into the passion that drove Ferrari. He is easy to admire, much harder to like. And many of his values, especially with regard to women, were antique even when he was alive. He only did one thing well, but he did that better than anyone before or since, so his place in history is assured.

The one huge mistake with this production is the decision to ask the reader to put on a phoney "Eye-talian" accent when delivering quotes and verbatims. This is truly awful. It robs the character of any dignity or seriousness, both of which he is fully entitled to, and makes him sound like something out of Fawlty Towers. A dreaful mistake. never to be repeated.

A fabulous detailed history of a true icon. This is a detailed account of the life and times of Enzo Ferrari; racing driver, race team manager, and car manufacturer. My only criticism is the narrator’s ‘faux-Italian’ accent he adopts each time he quotes Ferrari, which adds nothing to the quality of the story.

An excellent, in-depth history of a automotive icon.

As a Ferrarista since 6 years old, I've always wanted to know more about Il Commendatore. it's amazing. I connected with his story because he went through similar life experiences to me in terms of family losses and him going on dialysis. He was and is truly an inspirational individual.

He truly cared about people despite what the media and Lamborghini enthusiasts say about him.

The bonus was mentions of my all-time favourite Ferrari's the 250 Testa Rossa and 250 GTO as well mentioning a recent Ferrari showroom I finally visited recently: Maranello Concessionaires now known as Maranello Egham.

Highly recommend for those who want to understand Il Commendatore as a person.

An astounding book, that i couldn't stop listening to, a truly heartfelt and deeply detailed story of one of lifes great icons. before this book i appreciated and adored the brand, the cars and the motorsport history pedigree i have always been a fan of them.
Now i i appreciate, admire and adore the man behind the brand and the name, a true giant of human history who like him or not changed the world of motoring and motorsport, not to mention what he did for his home town. Forza Ferrari grand old man thank you.

i cannot recommend this book more than i do, a must for anyone who has even a remote interest in cars, motorsport or history

disliked the narrator trying to do an Italian accent when voicing Enzo or other Italians, un-necessary and they would have been speaking Italian anyway!

the detail of the story
