Some Useful (Albeit Unproven) Insights

I chose this book because of its interesting chapter headings and its flawless 25 5-star ratings, at the time. However...

I was disappointed with Part 1 - about entrepreneurship. The topics are covered at a high level and, perhaps due to my long term interest in entrepreneurship, I didn't learn much. I found a lot of it to be rudimentary (e.g. make a business plan) and common sense (e.g. hire people that you get on with, a good business partner's skills should complement your own etc.) and couldn't see the real life successful business experience of the author shining through. To this end, specific scenario examples articulating the author's assertions would have helped. Additionally, I would have loved to see the author play the devil's advocate against his own points so as to enable the reader to understand *why* they are correct, true or best.

Part 2 on mental toughness was better, although about 70% of it is spent telling the audience what mental toughness is and persuading the audience that it is a good thing, which was preaching to the choir, in my case, since understanding how to boost my mental toughness was one of the reasons I chose this book. There was too little content on how to actually improve your mental toughness and where this was proffered, I found it mostly vague and unjustified (e.g. meditation). However, I liked the chapter about controlling your thoughts because I knew it to be true and it contained clear actionable steps in support of this goal.

On the whole, I feel this book may be suitable for people who've never considered starting a business before but I wouldn't recommend it to those who have or to those who like to critique information before they accept it as valid or true.
