Summary

With only one month left in college, Ian is busy enjoying what time he has left with his friends. Since reaching maturity, his life hasn't been as carefree as it used to be, but he's found a way to fight his growing destructive urges by losing himself in women. That is until Paige enters his life and falls half dead into his arms. Looking only to keep her safe, Ian flees with her.

Paige has spent the past four years of her life training to fight and kill vampires. Her desire for revenge is the only thing that's kept her going, so when she's forced into hiding with Ian, she's determined to believe he's nothing but another monster in need of beheading. The more time they spend together, the more she begins to question what she's always believed about vampires. Unfortunately, if she lets him in, she'll have to admit that what she's fought so hard for may be nothing but a lie.

Ian is determined to make her see him for what he truly he is, and not what she believes him to be. He can only hope he'll be able to do so before she returns to her old life, and to the certain death awaiting her.

A Powerfully written and Narrated gripping story

This is such a powerful story. For those already familiar with the Burn family you will already know about Ian, but this book introduces a stronger, altogether more adult Ian.
Paige is damaged, strong, and has very defined ideas of vampires. When Ian enters her life under terrifying circumstances she is forced to question all her previous assumptions of vampires.
This book sees a return of Brian and introduces Ronan in a story that is fast paced and exciting, yet still has a healthy amount of passion.
Brenda K Davies story is well written, exciting and fast paced and the narration by Tavia Gilbert brings all of these things into the audiobook. The Characters are well definined and emotions are well expressed in the narration. It is well written and well narrated.

Love, Danger, and Hope

Ian has hit maturity and sex is his way of dealing with his demons urges. Paige lost her mother and attacked by her turned father and joined the vampire hunters believing all vampires are evil.
Loving the Burn family since the first book you know there is live, commitment, danger, protectiveness and family unity. Minor appearance of the couples from the previous book we are introduced to more secondary characters who always provide action and excitement.
I love this series. Each book is worth listening to over and over and I do every time a new one comes out. I never get tired of the stories. Plus Tania Gilbert is the best in drawing you in and making the stories come alive.
Hope these series never end 😘

I loved it!!

4.5*s

Talk about a wild ride in crazy land! Ha! Ian and his family must have magnets in their back pockets that draw them to danger. Seriously. One gets in trouble and it's like a domino effect. They all come crashing down.

This time it's Ian who gets into trouble, but he's not the only one. After rescuing some random girl from a vampire in an alley behind a bar, Ian finds himself on the run. And yes, the girl is with him. He couldn't just leave her behind.

Turns out the girl, Paige, is not only human, but she's working with the enemy. Paige has associated herself with hunters as a way to seek out revenge. She's on the hunt for a particular vampire and after four years she was face to face with him. If it hadn't have been for Ian, she'd have died

Now she is thrust into the supernatural world and will slowly learn that not all vampires are bad. The hunters didn't know everything after all. She is reluctant at first the .... when things start to go south and Ian has to once again save her life she learns not all vamps or men for that matter are bad.

It's a learning curve for them both. There is a man hunt for a vampire underway and both Ian and Paige fighting their lustful need for each other. Tight spaces and loud places make for one wicked ride in vampville!

I can't wait to jump to the next book!!!

Love the fresh angle of a large family that keeps growing

Hopefully we we get multiple follow up books to this one. Brenda Davies does a great job of creating a believable yet still fantastic world in which we see the start of large Irish family and witness as each of the children finds their mates and starts family's of their own. What's interesting Liam's best friends are so integral to the first book yet are unable to find their mates. Not until book six does one of the "stooges" Liam's college buddies are referred to finds a hint of love. Hopefully we will see another six books dealing with the stooges finding their mates as well as Erica and Aidan. By then the younger generation should be fully matured and ready for love.

Great book

Great book! I was captivated from the beginning to the end. Great story put together. Unexpected turns of events for Ian as he was just out just to get laid and get the itch scratched but ends up saving a human from a vampire attack. Paige is out for revenge to kill the one thing that has tormented her for the past 4 years but unexpectedly plans don’t turn out. I can honestly and definitely recommend this book if you enjoy paranormal of vampires then this is a book for you. You won’t be disappointed. I was only disappointed with cover because the guy does not go with the Ian was described but other than it is a great book. Happy reading!

Hot with a story

This book has it all, adventure, passion, fighting, & love. The characters are likable and believable. The narrator did a good job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene.
