Summary

Enigma: What Lies Beneath

Doctor Abbigail Sutherland is used to being alone. Between 12-hour shifts at the hospital and looking after her eccentric father, she has very little time for much else. Until an unexpected call one night, sends her racing to the lab where she discovers a secret that could change the world forever.

Hauke awakens after an underwater explosion, strapped to a bed and on his way to a site known as Area 51. His only hope for survival lies in Abbie Sutherland, the beautiful doctor that saved his life.

Amidst a deadly virus, seemingly impossible to stop, and a corrupt government placing a price on their heads, Hauke and Abbie run for their lives, uncovering conspiracies, deceptions, and a love that won't be denied....

Naura

As a Bracadyte princess, Naura is forbidden to visit the surface. Until an explosion near her home in Aukrabah leaves her injured and in the arms of a land walker named Anthony Vaughn. Recognizing him as her mate, Naura will stop at nothing to be with Tony. Even if it means her life.

Anthony Vaughn doesn't exist. Having his family tortured before his eyes and his past erased by the CIA, he no longer has a soul. The last thing he wants or needs is the responsibility of protecting the beautifully naive Naura from a ruthless government that wants her head. Danger and seduction become a constant companion in a world of intrigue, conspiracy, and a deadly epidemic that threatens to destroy them all.

Vaulcron

On a mission to save his people from being destroyed, Vaulcron must team up with a human reporter known as the Great White Shark. She's beautiful, cunning, and definitely hiding something. Vaulcron will do anything for his family, even if it means breeding with the one woman who can destroy them all.

Mallory Cahill hasn't become the lead reporter of Channel Eight News by being weak. Feared by some and hated by many, she'll do anything to get the story, no matter whose toes she has to step on to achieve it.

When Vaulcron, a Bracadyte prince, virtually falls into her lap, Mallory jumps at the chance to interview him. She doesn't count on falling for the gorgeous alien any more than she expects to be running for her life from the very government who had promised to protect her.

Fabulous

I loved this so much, it is unique and enjoyable. There was just enough heat and drama so that I didn’t want to turn it off. Headphones are a life saver.

Interesting Sci Fi Series

This is a great series. I initially read/listened to the third and seventh books and then had the opportunity to get this set upon request. This is my unbiased review.

The first story was the set up and it was great. Abby and Hauke met when they were younger and Hauke saved her. Fast forward many years and Abby goes to deliver lunch to her father and sees Hauke, presumably dead. She realizes he's not dead and she helps to revive him, which then sets forth a series of events where they have to escape and hide out from the humans but also from the Bracadytes, the underwater beings, who see humans as the enemy. How do they overcome these obstacles? Will people recognize that they are mates? And what do they do about the pervasive virus that is killing many humans? This romance of this story is a standalone but the arc about the virus continues throughout the next two books (and many more after this set). I love how strong both characters are and Abby is really a strong female character.

The second story is about Hauke's sister Naura and Abby's uncle Tony. Tony has a lot of pain in his life due to loss and Naura met him in the prior story. He's protective of her and she of him and they too, have to overcome a lot of the obstacles to get together. Naura is a healer and really cool, a strong female character, even if a little naive- she's a fish out of water. ha

The third story revolves around Hauke's other brother, Vaulcron and the reporter, Mallory. More of the mystery around the virus gets revealed. Again, a strong female character and a great romance.

As noted, although the romances are standalone, they should be read in order so everything about the foundational story regarding the virus makes sense.

Johnny Mack is a great narrator- I really enjoyed his story telling and loved his voices (especially the gravelly ones, for the males). He has very distinct voices- one of the "narrator" and then other differentiating voices that make it easy to tell who is speaking. It was an easy listen and I really look forward to continuing the story!

Amazing collection

I had originally listened to Enigma (the first in the series in this collection) and I was really excited when this collection came out. There are 3 books in this series and they're all amazing. Each of the books focus on a different sibling and how they find their love. I cannot wait to listen to more books in this series. The books are well written and have the perfect amount of romance balanced with the story. The narration was perfect for these books. I wouldn't hesitate to listen to more books by this author or narrator!

Very Unique!

I have read a LOT of books on aliens, and unusual beings, but this is the first of this type for me. This author, Ditter Kellen does such a fantastic job of describing the differences and similarities of them and humans that I could almost see them in my mind. She is also so good at bringing the lack of humanity that we tend to show to those who are different to the service that it is scary and sad at the same time. But, it is not just one side of the fence. Both groups had this in their society.
I listened to the audio version of the book and, once again, Johnny Mack kills it. His narration is always animated and brings the story to life. His characters make it easy to envision the person speaking and are consistent.
Recommend this trilogy!

Utterly Fantastic!

The variations in voices make the characters come alive. The story will draw you in. Even having read the books I found myself hooked because it just came to life and felt like I was hearing it for the first time.

very entertaining overall

some of the books were better than others (as most trilogies are), I did enjoy the series and if they came out with more, I would most likely listen. the narration was excellent. the farther you got into it the more enjoyable it was. I love longer books for that reason.

A Great Listen

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. What lies beneath the ocean? Is it friend or foe? When a grieving child is saved from drowning by a very strange teenage was their destiny changed? Along with the fate of the world. It seems it was after she saves his life and the world fears him and calls him a alien. A virus and lies fuel a major man hunt. The characters are interesting and well written. This action packed novel is at time intense and will keep you listening long after you should have turned it off.

Fantastic new series!

First of all I have to say WOW! What a spectacularly awesome new to me series. I definitely enjoyed listening to this storyline. It is very well written and narrated. I just can’t say enough about how intriguing the story is and how it pulled me in. I couldn’t wait for the next book in the series so a quarter of the way through I download the next book.
The narrator does a fabulous job with the characters and voices of each. He makes it easy to distinguish between the characters. He also has a great voice. Hubba hubba!
If you haven’t listen to this book you definitely need to. I definitely recommend this book!
