Jaded police detective Mike Palmer has been trying to take down suspected bank robber Donovan Carter for 18 months. However, this pales in comparison when Mike's ex-wife threatens to take their daughter away to another country, and he needs a lawyer to fight her for custody. Mike turns to Donovan for money, and is enlisted by him to help pull off his next heist.

Donovan has his own problems too. Desperate to keep his crimes hidden from his wife, he is stuck under the thumb of a dangerous gangster who is forcing him to perform the heists to pay off a debt. As the former adversaries work together on Donovan's biggest heist to date, they also have Mike's partner Jade Edmonds closing in, hoping to take them down.

Listener received this title free

This is a really enjoyable audio book. Fast paced and action packed you've no sooner caught your breath after one incident than another takes it away again. A corrupt cop and his partner are the main protagonists. Well developed characters and plot make this a must listen. Matt Jopling's narration is enthusiastic and draws the listener even further in to the story. I look forward to hearing more of both the author and narrator in future.
