Summary

Are you sometimes perplexed with Jesus' teaching? Do you really want what he wants? Best-selling author Kyle Idleman reveals that the key to the abundant life Jesus promised lies in embracing his inside-out way of life. As he examines Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, Kyle unpacks the many counterintuitive truths, including: brokenness is the way to wholeness, mourning is the path to blessing, and emptiness is required in order to know true fullness. Ultimately you will discover how Jesus transforms you as you begin to live out these paradoxical principles. Because only when you come to the end of yourself can you begin to experience the full, blessed, and whole life Jesus offers.

I learned a lot

It wasn't philosophical which is why I liked it so much. Its for you and me, it's written in the perspective of one person counseling another. It spoke a lot of truth. Really Good!

Well written. Very enjoyable.

Very relevant and enjoyable. Kyle Idleman has a very enjoyable writing style. His examples given are very applicable and easy to understand. He is very funny, and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I appreciate the lessons in this book.

Thank you Kyle for all of the work that you put into this.

Awesome

I enjoyed this book. I was encouraged and seen areas where I needed to change my way of thinking throughout the whole book. If you have a desire to end the "me" attitude/lifestyle, you'll definitely want to read this book.

Good Guide to Selflessness

This is a good guide for changing worldly self serving thinking and living. The author uses humor to soften the impact and 180 degree difference it is to die to self and what is accepted as every day existence in this country at this time. For those seriously pursuing Christ, it is a no-brainer. For those pursuing religion, impressing others, material things, prestige, etc. this is a hard teaching.
