Mal and Freya are very Volatile at the beginning especially..I am finding it really difficult reviewing this book,because I am afraid of saying spoilers..
because Mal and Freya's romance is very complicated and they are connected by the past and it weaves itself into the present.
Freya is Annika's best friend and sister,she is a hacker and a thief,she also has a medical condition that prevents her for going out into the sun.So she lives her life in the dark.
Mal is Kenzo's cousin and advisor,he is also an expert at Hacking and he is on a mission.
To find out who murdered his whole family 20 years ago and somehow Freya is linked to a 20 year crime,that destroyed Mal.
He uses that pain and it turns him into a monster and he wants revenge and so Freya is perfect to enact that revenge.
Honestly these two together are UNBELIEVEABLE !!..They have a relationship that is HIGHLY sexual,dark and depraved..
Mal has leverage on Freya and so dominants her in every single way possible,she becomes Mal's toy to do with what he wants.
But what Mal thinks is a punishment to Freya it is not for Freya because it sates every single kink and fantasy she has.
Freya is also keeping secrets from Mal and everyone about herself and her future..they are toxic at first together but once they fall in Love Mal is caring in his own way.
I was so enthralled with this story because there is alot of secrets and curve balls that had me with my jaw open..I didn't expect some of it but a part of me knew it was obvious what was going to happen.
This story is a THRILLER and my goodness the narration once again is SUPERB from Kyo Sija and Will Thorne they just blow me away with their storytelling..and it was kind of nice having a characters voice that sounded like she was a northern lass like me..what I mean by that she wasn't the typical posh English accent but sound like she was from the north like me..yay for that..and Kyo was Amazing at it..I can honestly say that these books would not be the same if Kyo and Will didn't do the narration,because I cannot imagine anyone else as these very complex characters.It is Perfect.!!
Emperor of Rage will have you panting on the edge of your seat and blushing profusely at the intimacy between Mal and Freya.
I am excited for more and very invested in this world now bring on book 3...
