Lewis Howes grew up as an athlete. He was a two-sport All-American and went on to play football professionally. Howes then transferred his competitive nature from sports to business, building his podcast, The School of Greatness, into a global phenomenon. But his whole identity was built on misguided beliefs about what "masculinity" was: dangerous, false ideas learned from teammates and coaches in locker rooms and stereotypes in the media. Like so many men, Howes grew up to be angry, frustrated, and always chasing something that was never enough.

Story
One of the biggest ways to lead the way in education or at work is through relationship-building. This process happens through a variety of steps that we need to make, including getting to know a person, engaging in small talk, and finding common ground with others. One of the ways to enhance this process is Emotional Intelligence. What is Emotional Intelligence? It is the way that we perceive, relate to, and deal with our complex emotions. We can apply this to our relationships because we can see how people behave and react to their emotions.
Summary
Do you find it difficult to get a grip on your own emotions? And, more importantly, those of other people? Have you ever found yourself completely at loss for words when you need to close people on a deal, get them to listen to your point of view, defuse tense situations, and win people over to your side?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then keep reading....
Having a high emotional intelligence is the closest you can get to becoming a bona fide mind reader, and this is not even an exaggeration.
At least once in your life, you must have met a person like that, a person who made you feel understood, who knew your moods and the exact thing to say to you to make you feel better or more confident.
How did you feel toward that person? If you're anything like me, you probably felt a strong pull toward that person and were more open to doing favors for them, right?
That's an individual with high emotional intelligence.
If you would like to learn how to have this same effect on people you encounter every day, then this special book I put together will help you do just that. This book is the culmination of countless hours of research and real-world practice I and many others have used to great success in our personal and professional lives.
This book contains:
- Emotional Intelligence: An Effective Practical Guide
- Emotional Intelligence: A 21 Step-by-Step Guide
- A Psychologist's Guide to Mastering Social Skills, Improving Your Relationships and Raising Your EQ
In this book, you're going to discover:
- A powerful questionnaire to help you determine your EQ
- Four foolproof ways to improve your self-awareness and empathy
- Five simple ways to identify and articulate your emotions
- The underrated power of delayed gratification and how to master it
- Effective verbal and nonverbal tips to help you connect with other people
- How to resolve conflicts at work
- Fifteen questions to help you determine your status in the workplace
- The simple five-step method for quickly de-escalating conflicts
- ...and tons more!
Whether you want to learn how to effectively deal with colleagues at work, understand your children's emotional needs, or forge a closer bond with your romantic partner, Emotional Intelligence is a comprehensive guide that has something for you.

Horribly biased, sexist initial chapters
To be honest, I never progressed beyond the first chapters. I found the assumptions parading as science around the development of emotional instability inside the womb extremely disturbing. It's easy to assume we are past the kind of malevolent sexism revealed in this book, but it seems we are not.

A must listen for everyone, everywhere
This book will change your life. It is easily in my top five books to recommend to ANYONE now. I don't care who you are, you can and will benefit from listening this book. If you are someone like me, you might be disappointed to find pieces of yourself on every page. You might even start to realize just how messed up you really are. I know that's the effect it had on me but becoming more aware of my lack of emotional intelligence has enabled me to finally confront my issues and get myself on the path of recovery and learning to empathize with others.

Successful audio book
Emotional intelligence is probably a very deciding factor in success. It is however by far more difficult to measure someone's EQ instead of IQ so you just have to trust the listening and go ahead with the knowledge. There's a lot being offered within the book and if you want to get ahead of the crowd there's even another book 'Emotional Intelligence in Action'.

A superb job
This is a book everyone should listen. What strange creatures we are! Our left frontal lobe and our right frontal lobe can be the strongest of allies, or they can be the bitterest of enemies, almost wanting to kill each other sometimes. It does a superb job illustrating this phenomenon, while moving the reader along at a brisk and interesting pace. Is there anyone out there who can explain the numerous, although minority, number of one star reviews? I don't get it. How can anyone think this book stinks, just because the subject matter isn't their cup of tea? I sense fear.
