Summary

Have you ever wondered if it's possible to break free from the vicious cycle of emotional abuse forever? Being involved with an abusive person can be a nightmarish journey. Going down that path will open your eyes to how people really are, how broken our society is and most of all you’ll learn a lot about your force of will and spirit.

A lot of people that are currently suffering from abuse aren’t even aware that they’re being a victim. These sufferers have no idea that abuse is taking place right under their noses. Sometimes, the perpetrators are individuals that would never be suspected of being a toxic person. The concealed nature of abuse is what makes it cause so much damage over the long term if it is never put to a stop.

Here's some of what you can expect to learn inside the pages of this book:

  • How to identify the red flags of emotional abuse and how to completely break free of it.
  • Learn how to properly set boundaries with abusive people so that your rights and needs are respected.
  • A practical, step-by-step program designed to take you from abused to survivor while minimizing the damage.
  • How to stay away from the abusive individual over the long term and what to do in case of a relapse and much more!

This audiobook will educate you on the signs of emotional abuse. You will learn how to recognize the characteristics of potential abusers and where these people might be hiding in your life.

You will know exactly which course of action to take in case you ever find yourself in a psychologically abusive relationship.

You will also learn all about the stages of recovery from psychological abuse and what course of action to take in case there is a relapse.

Good but Repetitive

I lost the interest after few chapter as I found it too repetative. My apologies to the author. From the reviews you can see many people liked it, but I guess we all have different tastes.

Useful guidance

The words in this book are chosen carefully, and the messages are given with respect and compassion and intelligence. It describes the traits of ASPD's, and the reasons the victims are duped and discarded, and how devastating the aftermath is.

Complete guide

The book saved my life. I felt like I couldn't even express to anyone for so long just how horrible and awful the man who left me absolutely many times was, and how worse it was than your broken relationship averages. This book opened my eyes to a feeling I know was already deep inside me (my intuition to tell me something was very wrong with my relationship's "big picture"

It is a book MUST HAVE on the topic!!! If you suspect you might be in a relationship with a psychopath, don't waste a minute getting this book, because if you're wondering ... you 're more than likely!

Excellent!

Many of the book's profound philosophical observations left me in tears. I was taken by the beauty of the author's words and their helpfulness. Through this book, I felt a connection to him that was beautiful and refreshing after listening to so much that seemed more like clinical science. This is what you need when you thirst for knowledge and strategies to get on with your afterlife

Valuable resource

I gained lots of valuable knowledge about the psychopaths, but doing so made me wonder about the healing process for myself. That's where this book comes in; it's all about recovering the self esteem the psychopaths get so much pleasure out of tearing down.

Appreciable audible

After my divorce, I found myself attracting toxic people, and being unable to trust the ones that were not. This book is helping me build my confidence and avoid toxic people. I cut out others who I hadn't realized were bad for me. I was confusing what red flags really were. Like it says in the book, I have the chance to be stronger and healthier as I heal from my time with an abuser. I'll be more likely to see the nearly hidden signs, and I'll learn I trust my gut again. I feel I owe a lot to this book.

Detailed explanation

This authors writes with such emotion so as the listeners we could connect with him, empathize and listen and then be able to relate it to our lives. Do not be afraid to listen this book as it will challenge you on all of your relationships, perhaps having the courage to end the toxic ones and freeing yourself of the cycle these horrible people dedicate their entire lives. As he kept saying “zero contact, zero contact”. Sad, no matter if husband, child, parent, friend, lover

Changed my life!

This book transformed my world beyond words, for the better. Having been a young successful guy taken under by such a supernatural being is still difficult for me to grasp to this day. However, after going through the abuse over 12 mo recovery, I see that my whole life was under somebody's manipulation, and from my childhood I got to the root of that and set myself free!

Wonderful audible

The author even uses some good humour to get us through describing what is truly obnoxious, cold, calculating and damaging behaviour. He has used his own personal experience as a springboard to discovery and elucidation for the rest of the world to see. Awesome!

Incredibly helpful

I find this book incredibly informative and helpful. In excellent fashion, he clarifies the psychopathic type and their patterns, giving the reader a way to recognize, remove oneself and recover from the destruction caused by those people. Recommend them highly!

Appreciable audible

This book really helped me. I've been dealing with my fair share of terrible relationships and listening this book at a referral from my therapist. While not all of this applied in my opinion to the few people, it certainly helped get through it.

Well described!

That best describes my experience with my psychopathic, charismatic ex. Unfortunately we are both employed at the same place and the creature has done a great deal of harm to my reputation by projecting their sins and playing victim flawlessly. Listening to this book and hearing the voice of understanding helps. Thank you . Thank you.

Highly recommend this book

This is a very veritable book. What's sad is that a psychopath who brought them to this book has probably already hurt the majority of people listening to this. Perhaps this book can offer you insight into how a narcissist (i.e. love bombing is the main clue) can be identified and how to defend yourself. The biggest trick to getting to know someone is to go slow.

Pleased with this audiobook

Super audible. This will help you to feel optimistic once again, realizing that your case is not special and that after an abusive relationship there is healing, development and a deeper understanding of yourself. I 'm sure I'll be listening it again, if not more than many times.

Helpful listen!

In one night I listened to it, I simply couldn't put it down. Since my relationship ended, I have listen a number of books on emotional abuse, sociopaths and narcissists and this one was by far the most accurate and helpful.

Very helpful!

My daughter is trying to escape one of these relationships and recommended that her therapist listen to this book. It has been very helpful to understand better where she has been and how to help in the future.
