About this listen

It was supposed to be a routine homicide. A body in a back alley. No witnesses. Another forgotten victim in a city that knows how to bury the truth. But Detective Marcus Cole doesn’t let things go—especially not when something feels wrong. What begins as a simple case soon leads him down a dark path of hidden networks, whispered names, and power structures built to protect the worst kind of men. As he digs deeper, Marcus finds himself crossing lines that can't be uncrossed. With pressure mounting, allies slipping away, and enemies watching from the shadows, one question remains: how far will he go to bring justice to the people the system forgot?

Taut, atmospheric, and unflinching, Elite Desires is a gripping crime thriller about the weight of silence, the price of truth, and one detective’s fight to expose the darkness hiding in plain sight.

Elite Desires is a well-written short detective novel. Marcus Cole refuses to accept the police’s conclusions and, with a reporter’s help, goes undercover to uncover the truth. The characters are strong, the story engaging, and Sam Rosenthal’s narration is spot on. A recommended listen!
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the author and leave this honest review.

it was a bit slow to start, but when it did I couldn't put it down. The beginning of a series I do hope so.
The author of this fictional story that we all know is based on fact, has a must read series on his hands.

I listened to this on audible. It is a quick read just over 4 hours. The story is based around the detective who is determined to get to the real truth. However, the downfall for me was the narration. I felt it was narrated in a rush and because of this it spoilt the normal calm enjoyment I have when listening on audible.
