The stories I never knew I needed to hear

A brilliant and thrilling introduction to Egyptian mythology. The stories flow well from one to the other and each are very well narrated.

Moving swiftly along...!

Ears bleeding after 3rd or 4th chapter...no depth, dimension and matter of fact skip along "lets get this done". Americanised enough said! Returned, unfortunately. Not for me although gave the story (from previous readings) a 5*

Thoroughly entertaining and informing

I enjoyed this book immensely, especially the genesis of the gods. I was also entertained by a single narrator reading all the parts, that really works well.

Must Read

No I was fully invested by this but I felt it was too short but then again what would be considered too short in such a vast mythology I hope that there will be further adaptions the author did a splendid job

Couldn’t sound more boring! So disappointed :(

The book reads like it’s the authors second language! Great subject made to sound boring by the narrator!

wonderful story telling!

After years of study into the Egyptian myths and countless stories and segments of stories, hearing these spoken with passion and joy brought many of the Gods and stories to life in ways I have longer for. It is approachable, fun, and full of wisdom for those that seek it.

botched telling of beautiful myths

the story is ok I guess, though it repeats itself often and gets incredibly cheesy. DEFINITELY not an accurate source for learning egyptian myths. More like a fiction novel inspired by the myths rather than an accurate telling. Not to mention completely made up ideas. Just one of many irritations in this book; the myth of Osiris's death was almost indistinguishable from any telling of it (i kid you not, the author has Set and Osiris get into a fist fight!!!) Overall, don't buy unless you want to waste money on what is essentially fanfiction.

Great Book to Start learning Egyptian Myths

Great book full of many wonderful stories told by a narrator who brings a spark of joy to the readings. It’s very easy to read ancient history books in the same dull monotone voice. But Mr. Hunt really helps bring the old stories to life.
Would recommend reading this book if your new to Egyptian Mythology, or if you would like a nice refresher course.

Amazing

it's an amazing book. The stories are detailed, but not too long. The beginning is a bit slow, but interesting nevertheless. 5/5

Far below expectations

I initially purchased this book in order to know more about Egyptian mythology and the core values of their belief systems. This book falls short. While it provides several stories, it doesn't provide context for the tales or place the tales within the larger Egyptian context or society. The narration is a bit dry and lacks nuance.

Great book for Audible, Great book period

This book is perfect for audible. The stories are easy to follow, interesting and fun to learn about. All the stories move quickly and the narrator does an excellent job at giving them life. I highly recommend this book.

Refreshing

It's hard to find good collections of Egyptian mythology that explains the cosmology of the religion. As well as keeping the morals of the different stories intact.

love the story

the narrator is a bit rough for the types of stories they are. but other than that
