With the alien scourge responsible for the greatest war in humanity's history in full retreat, Kira Forrest anticipates a few months of rest and relaxation while she and her found family recover from their ordeal.

Her hard earned peace is cut short when an attack on the Great Houses reveals cracks in the very foundation of the empire. When blame is laid at the feet of Kira's birth house, she will have to find the true perpetrators quick if she wants to protect her new home and everyone within it.

Her hunt will lead her to strange planets and ultimately a place anchored in her past. With the balance of power in a tension fraught universe at stake, Kira will have to decide what is most important to her. The love that sustains her or the safety of all she holds dear.

War isn't just coming. It's already here.

I've read all these, listened to them all, and they're all great. Here we have Jin in a "soft" body, learning to cope with not being the all powerful JN-1, or whatever he was. Good storyline, engages the attention and doesn't let up, utterly absorbing. There's a novella by the author, Botanical Mischief, that runs alongside the latter parts of the book, that gives us a different perspective on Kiera and co., and introduces a (I hope) new character for the future. She's very fine!
The book encompasses betrayal, sneakiness, friendship, love.. what more can you want?

Excellent - continuation of a really good series

Great narration, excellent continuation of the storyline. White is a master storyteller and I hope the series never ends.

I’m a real fan of this series - it’s good enough that I’ve read / listened multiple times to all the books.

Echoes of Insurrection is a lot about evolving relationships and to me feels like a bridge to bigger events to come. That said, there’s plenty of action and adventure. Seeing Jin in the flesh is so satisfying.

It’s definitely worth starting with the earlier books to appreciate fully.

The narrator is talented (her voice is Kira for me), but there are a few slip ups in the reading that detract a bit from the experience. Overall good.

Kira + Jin return!
