Summary

There just isn't enough time for everything on our to-do list - and there never will be. Successful people don't try to do everything. They learn to focus on the most important tasks and make sure those get done. They eat their frogs. There's an old saying that if the first thing you do each morning is eat a live frog, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing you're done with the worst thing you'll have to do all day. For Tracy, eating a frog is a metaphor for tackling your most challenging task - but also the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life. Eat That Frog! shows you how to organize each day so you can zero in on these critical tasks and accomplish them efficiently and effectively.

In this fully revised and updated edition, Tracy adds two new chapters. The first explains how you can use technology to remind yourself of what is most important and protect yourself from what is least important. The second offers advice for maintaining focus in our era of constant distractions, electronic and otherwise. But one thing remains unchanged: Brian Tracy cuts to the core of what is vital to effective time management: decision, discipline, and determination. This life-changing book will ensure that you get more of your important tasks done - today!

Great content - Not the most engaging narration.

Brian Tracy is fantastic. This book is great for those out there like myself that would like to be more productive. I believe I already manage my time fairly well but Tracy gives you more insight into the best ways to get more done.

In writing this review, I am 'eating a frog' - Well, maybe a newt. But either way, I recognize my frogs from my tadpoles and my tadpoles from my newts much more clearly now and prioritize more effectively than prior to listening.

The narration is not to everybody's taste. I found Tracy's voice very, very dull unfortunately and I really did not enjoy the tone in which the book was delivered. There is little motivation in the delivery but huge amount in the content.

All in all a 3/5

Good listen. Could be shorter

I found plenty of gold nuggets in this listen. However, there was some repetition and it could have been made an hour shorter and still have got the same message across.

Great insights with a soft narration

The overall content of this book is powerful and I feel there are some great ideas I can implement. The narration is a in a really soft tone and I often had to turn the volume up to hear it. Saying this, it is worth it as I feel the knowledge shared is useful.

Changed the way I look at my work!

I'm still struggling to be disciplined and eat my frog but I'm a lot more conscious about what I need to do to change so expecting some improvement in my productivity and career soon. When I did get to eat my frog, the boost in confidence was significant, so I know I just need to keep on practising using all the tips given. I'm on to listening to more books from Brian Tracy now to keep the motivation.

Solid advice - remains to be seen!

I find the voice to be annoying but the advice seems sound. Time will tell!

short and snappy

Exactly how I wanted this book to be. Short enough in each chapter to keep me engaged in its methodology and interesting enough with its narration to not make me skip.
The narrator has these weird pauses to his sentences though, which did annoy me a little haha But, overall I really enjoyed the theory behind it.

Pearls of Wisdom

I have had the pleasure of listening to his book twice now and all I can say is I wish I had read/listened to it earlier.

It's an enjoyable and VERY PRACTICAL book. Brian eloquently weaves his story throughout the book to give greater clarity to the KEY points he wants you to understand and then APPLY.

For anyone that feels stuck in life or in their current job, this well structured guide will help you.

Thank you Brian Tracy

Beneficial to work ethic

This book is well written for motivation. Btian Tracy gives many methods to help oneself overcome procrastination. I appreciate the salami and swiss cheese method. I also like how he presents question as to what is holding you back and such that makes people think about what they want and why they want it. I am thankful that I read this book.

not much value

this guy thinks we're like computers and that all tasks are 1 person projects and can be done anywhere and only consume the resource of time.

Useful with some caveats

The book provides common sense and detailed useful advice on time management.
Psychological considerations are mostly flawed.
Relations with colleagues are undervalued.
There are some contradictions.
It is not true that anyone can learn anything.
Sometimes there is a salesman tone: the author sells his book as the definitive way to success and happiness.

Great for mindset

Its a great for people who need a place to start. The beginning of the book was great but if you have read other self help books the tips at the end might be obvious. Still an excellent book.
