About this listen
A prophetic dream. An emp attack. The ultimate contest for survival!
Danny and Alisa's lives are turned upside-down when Danny begins having prophetic dreams about the judgment coming upon America. Through one of Danny's dreams, they learn about the imminent threat of an EMP attack which will wipe out America's electric grid, sending the country into a technological dark age.
Living in a nation where life-sustaining systems of support are completely dependent on electricity and computers, the odds for survival are dismal. Municipal water services, retail food distribution, police, fire, EMS, and emergency services will come to a screeching halt. Hunger, despair, and panic will push desperate people to commit unthinkable acts against their fellow human beings.
If they want to live through the most catastrophic period in American history, Danny and Alisa will have to race against time to get prepared, before the lights go out. Don't miss this epic thrill ride. Get your copy and start this heart-stopping EMP saga today!
This is the complete, four-book box set containing book one: Behold Darkness and Sorrow, book two: Ichabod, book three: A Haunt for Jackals, and book four: Vengeance.
As with all books by Mark Goodwin, this audiobook contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and biblical references, this might not be for you.

Misleading, it’s a biblical story. I don’t need a Christian lecture.
Well read, but I like to listen to stories before sleeping. If I wanted to listen to a biblical Christian story I would have chosen a book as such.
Not to say I’m not Christian, but I like to choose how and when I listen to pious doctrine.
I feel cheated, and misled.
Only few chapters in, hope the Cristian biblical bias will disappear later on the book.
Ideal for our Mormon relatives but not for me.

Modern day Bible
couldn't even get past chapter 5. The author uses passages from the Bible to fill the story line one chapter was just a church ceremony with the Vicar reading from the Bible. snooz fest.

Far to preachy
I have tried to listen to this book 3 times but the furthest I got was halfway through chapter 6. I felt that I was being preached to and after a while I could not take any more (yes I am a Christian myself but this was to much for me) the narrator did a good job but unfortunately there is only so much he can do.

Bible class in the form of survival books
These are EMP Survival 101 books for Christians within the context of Christian bible lectures. If you are Christian you may like this.
It is very misleading in portraying itself as a general survival adventure book series, but in reality they are heavily religious books about Christianity. It is more interested in teaching the ways of the bible in a very biased and judgmental way.
Character's who are not Christians and don't listen to the 'warning' get the worst deal in the storyline. However, some finally 'see the light', experience miracles, become believers, are saved and miraculously good things happen to them thereafter. Every chapter starts off with a bible quote. It's hard to find a sentence that doesn't have reference to Christianity in it and I feel the author should have been transparent about the significant religious objectives of these books.
Even without the bible scriptures everywhere in the books, book 1 is entirely about prepping for the Event. This is written in an extremely slow, micromanaged way. It's almost written as a survival user guide indicating in detail for ex, which are the best foods to buy and from where, what is the best bullets to buy for which gun and what size to get etc. It quickly becomes tedious. I found it a very hard slog to get through and didn't enjoy it. The best part about the books was the narrator who did a good job. I was given a copy of this book for free of my choosing and have voluntarily left this review.
