Summary

In this third installment of the Amazon Top 10 best-selling EMP: Equipping Modern Patriots series, Jonathan Hollerman chronicles the survivors as they endeavor to pick up the pieces and start over in the ashes of a world destroyed by a nationwide, long-term grid-down scenario.

After the devastating battle at the East Homestead, Sean’s family regroups and makes some new alliances; however, with those growing bonds, new risks arise. Colonel Harris struggles to feed the 31st Regiment while attempting to offer assistance to the locals and contemplates risking his own life for the future of his country. A stranger arrives in Tionesta with unknown aspirations, and an ominous looting force the size of a small army entrenches nearby. Despite the emerging prospects for a new beginning, a shadow looms over the fresh buds of optimism.

excellent and realistic in my opinion

another great book with tons of information packed in to a awesome story. I literally had a note pad at times to write down some of the detailed products and or information that could be useful later. of course this is true for all of the book so far. if you ever survivalist prepper mindset I highly recommend digesting these books thoroughly.

A great read while I wait for the real thing

I just like this series. Not to complicated. It's easy to listen to at work with my ear plugs in. Makes the days go by so much faster.

Awesome, another great story

Jonathan Hollerman has become my favorite author when it comes to this topic. Not only inform on the topics at hand but also a great story teller. Also the narrator did great. Not 1 issue i found while listening. Not annoying voices, dry mouth or anything else. only problem I have is that the book ended. Haha. Once i get closer and closer to the end im like nooooo just keep going. Great book.

Another Hit!!!

What made the experience of listening to EMP: Equipping Modern Patriots: New Beginnings the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed where this story went, the story line was a bit darker to match the situations that Sean, his family and the Col were put into. Jonathan gives you a very good sense of what CAN happen if/when this type of event occurs.

What was one of the most memorable moments of EMP: Equipping Modern Patriots: New Beginnings?

I enjoyed the whole story, the growth of the characters really added to the plot

Which character – as performed by B.J. Harrison – was your favorite?

Willy - Really identified with a man like that, reminded me of my uncle who served in the 1st Infantry Div during vietnam. He kinda walked like a ghost but had a heart of a Saint - the ultimate "Grey Man".

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Walking the line between Hope and Hell

Any additional comments?

I enjoy Jonathans writing, its not the "Doomsday Prepper" story line we are all use to. Rather it allows the reader/listener to walk along with the characters and get a sense of what choices may need to be made to survive and in some ways thrive in what would be horrible situation. Looking forward to the next installment of EMP: Equipping Modern Patriots, maybe tagged "Coming Together" Cheers

narration is horrible.

while the story line is okay, the narrator is awful. accents change for the same character constantly. on sentence he has a country accent the next british. jesus... it would be better if it was just read in a straight monotone like a text book

Layman pulp fiction but entertaining

It is obvious that the author has a great deal of knowledge about the subject but with the exception of the information concerning bunkers and modern off-the-shelf preparation food sources and commercial items that are shamelessly plugged through the book much of the tactical information is a bit dated especially where concerned with some of the medical procedures but even with that I find this series of books fun to listen to while pumping out endless rounds at the reloading bench or sharpening knives or preparing a kit I love the attention that he gives the local communities and the development of many of his characters although sometimes it can be a little shallow end overly simplified with good versus evilAnd miss trust of the government which probably isn’t a bad thing

Jonathan Hollerman’s best work so far!

Loved this book. The story was engaging and while it continued the story of previous characters in the series, it introduced new ones and certainly new plot twists.
