Summary

Build. Evolve. Conquer. Welcome to a whole new kind of Boss Battle....

Roark von Graf fought his way up from the bottom to become not only the Dungeon Lord of the Cruel Citadel, but the leader of the Troll Nation, making underhanded alliances with other dungeons and players along the way.

Until now, he’s only had to worry about his enemies attacking from inside the game. But Lowen, the Tyrant King’s right-hand man, has found a way to attack the players in league with Roark IRL, laying siege to the company that keeps Hearthworld’s servers running and capturing the very Devs who can take Roark apart byte by byte.

To stop Lowen and his Divine armies once and for all, Roark will have to drag the magics of the game into the real world, harness deadly new technologies, and build dungeons in places no Dungeon Lord has ever gone before.

The fate of Earth hangs in the balance. The duel between Dungeon Lords has begun. And one of them isn’t leaving Hearthworld alive....

From James A. Hunter - author of Bibliomancer, Shadowcroft Acadmey for Dungeons, and Viridian Gate Online - and eden Hudson, author of Path of the Thunderbird and Death Cultivator, comes the fifth installment in the best-selling Rogue Dungeon series!

Internally Inconsistent

The story was fine overall but was internally Inconsistent.
Previously one of the biggest problems the developers had was an inability to change or do anything with Rorick and the code he had interacted with.
This was either forgotten or ignored in order to take away a powerful artifact from him in this book. which was previously stated (repeatedly) to be immune to their tampering and incapable of being interacted with.
Minus the ignoring of previously important information for the pushing through of plot. it was still a fun story.

Another Amazing Book in Series

Due to the fast pace of the series it’s easy to remember when Roric, Kaz, and Mac were all lowbies trying to survive and now they are a force to be reckoned with. Great story, good character development, and Nick nails the voice acting. Satisfying read that leaves you thirsty for more!

So dumb! So fun!

What an absolutely rediculous series of events. This book had me laughing and smiling through the whole thing. A lot of book series like this start off funny and good, then get too serious and not fun. This is the reverse. The first books weren't that good, but the more I read the better and funnier it became.

Just pay the fine!!!

Ok, after reading a LOT of reviews and not really seeing anyone else mention this; why didn’t they just pay the merchants fine to get him out of prison? They could have saved a lot of trouble. If the plot required them to actually go to prison, which I honestly don’t think it did then they could have just paid their own fines to get out. It’s such an obvious plot hole I can’t rate this installment as high as the previous 2.

I love the story. One of my favorites in the genre

I bought the cookbook. I love the troll chef's voice in the narration. This volume ups the wild and weird meter as beings from the game interact with our world. Great voices and some great battles. Definitely worth my time listening. I enjoyed the book and enjoyed the audiobook even more.

If adolescent toilet humor is your thing...

Then the constant potty mouth insults hurled back and forth will delight you.

I am considering this the (thankful) end of this story. It was actually well done besides the constant penis, ass and assorted scatalogical jokes and insults.

Nick Podehl is a formidable narrator and the story is a good one overall, I mean I did buy 5 books in the series and am not disappoint but am feeling the closure now. Cheers

So many inconsistencies

Okay, again love the story, but there are so many inconsistencies with the other books. Minor stuff like the level for a character not being right. But also major plot points from other books like how npcs can’t respawn.
