Nikki Ash pens another fantastic novel, a fake engagement, enemies-to-lovers office romance, and it is a great start to her “Love & Whiskey” series. The story grabbed my attention immediately and held it captive for the entire book. I adored the two lead characters, Anastasia and Julian, both are driven, not afraid to go after what they want and are determined to get it. Anastasia had a strained relationship with her father since the tragic death of her mother, and she moved to London to be away from him. Hearing thru the grapevine that her father, CEO of Kingston Limited, was going to retire, she was upset he did not teller her, but he never wanted to talk business with her, despite her practically growing up there. She expresses her interest in taking over for him, but he has plans to take the company in another direction, does not want it ran the way he did. She finds out what he is looking for and come up with a plan to fit that criteria, but she needs to come up with a fiancé first and applies to be a trophy wife. Julian worked his way up the ladder in Kingston Limited and he is the number one candidate for the CEO position, at least he thought he was, but when Samuel announced his retirement, he was not sure if Julian would be a good fit or not. He did not want Julian to make the same mistakes he did, focus more on the job than his family. So Julian knows what he has to do, to show Samuel he can balance work and a relationship, except he needs to find someone to have a relationship with first. So he looks to hire a trophy wife, and he gets way more than he bargained for. OMG, the chemistry between Julian and Anastasia was electric, and they definitely met their match in each other, giving as good as they got. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted, multilayered story that has the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Nikki Ash, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional roller coaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 The wonderfully talented Kelsey Navarro Foster & Walker Williams did a fabulous job bringing these characters and story to life. They understood the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role. Navarro Foster nailed it as Anastasia, grasping every aspect of her personality, from her fierceness to her most vulnerable moments. Willams did the same for Julian and was just as amazing in his role, swoon worthy and all. Both were fantastic performing the roles of all the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.
