Story
Agreeing to meet Ryker Lockhart is my first mistake. Rich, handsome, and more than intriguing, he thinks blackmail will bend me to his will. But he’s wrong. I may have done a few things that weren’t exactly legal, but I have my own reasons for that. The last thing I’m going to do is let some high-powered divorce attorney come into my life, have my body, and rule my heart. Not to mention ruin everything that I have carefully built in just a short amount of time.

Story
I didn't mean to star in a sex tape, okay? It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds. It just happened. Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family's oil company. Little does she know, that's not the only pipe I'll be laying....

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville - at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade ring in my ears every time a towns-person brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again. Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons - sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer.

It's a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you've seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I'm successful, if I'm able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job. But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number 10, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell? Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart....

Dear Mr. Vega: I felt it necessary to follow up on today’s meeting, since we weren’t able to speak candidly in front of your son. I was shocked to discover that you are Ryder’s dad. I think it would be best if we just pretend that we met in person for the first time today. Your son is a very bright (flirtatious and talkative) student and since his education is a top priority for both of us, I hope I can count on you to respectfully refrain from grinning at me, using that sexy tone of voice, and undressing me with your annoyingly beautiful brown eyes....

What a story ❤️
- By Angela ~ Jezabell Girl & Friends on 19-01-21
Summary
I am the exception to the rule...
In a world full of willing women, I'm a challenge to the roguish and achingly handsome Colton Donavan. A man used to getting exactly what he wants in all aspects of life. He's the reckless bad boy constantly skating that razor-thin edge toward out of control, on and off of the track.
Colton crashes into my life like a tornado: sapping my control, testing my vulnerabilities beyond their limits, and unintentionally penetrating the protective wall around my healing heart. Tearing apart the world I rebuilt so carefully with structure, predictability, and discipline.
I can't give him what he wants and he can't give me what I need. But after a glimpse beneath his refined exterior into the dark secrets of his damaged soul, can I bring myself to walk away?
Our sexual chemistry is undeniable. Our individual need for complete control is irrefutable. But when our worlds collide, is the chemistry enough to bring us together or will our untold secrets and battle of wills force us apart?

Yeah, not full of racing..
I enjoyed the narration, so that was great. Always a plus!!
The chemistry straight away between Colton and Rylee is electric, may be because he is a knight in shining armour, or he is just hot as all hell, but kissy face happens and as it happens this quick in real life, I have no problem with it happening this quick in book life either, especially when in a short space of time, the nappy hits the fan and Colton has his work cut out even getting a nice word out of her lips nevermind a repeat kiss.
Their paths however are set to collide and Colton and Rylee are hotter together than the tyres on his car after a spin around his racetrack. He isn't just a player, he has a troubled past and the way he is with Rylee's boys... well omg, i just about melted.
There were times when i wanted to roll my eyes at both characters, or speed it up a little, but things very quickly pulled back, I enjoyed the story, got involved with the characters and their connection and really hated Tawny. When I hate, and am invested, this is good.....so yes, I am looking forward to the next!
I did think it was going to be full of races, her waiting pensive by the side. It wasn't so I was happy about that. Don't mind some, but not 80%.
The ending. I love an ending like this, wam, bam thank you and ??? what? Yes! Leave me there ? Seriously? shovemeoffthatcliffytastic!!

should be something I would enjoy but it wasn't
First of all I can't identify specifically what I disliked so much about this book.
The theme is good, it is well written but the characters are lacking for me and I really dislike Colton Donovan. I liked some of the characters on the periphery of the story, just not the main characters.
The narrating is ok but it did not draw me into the characters at all.

Good
This is the first book in the Driven trilogy and unfortunately the other parts are not available as an audiobook yet; but the kindle versions are.
The performance is excellent and it makes for addictive listening. If you like angst with your romance then you'll love this. It's the usual story of broken girl meets broken boy and they are drawn to each other with amazing chemistry. It's very well written and I can't wait to read the next book. It ends on a cliffhanger.

So good!!
I loved this book and the narrator, Tatiana Sokolov, has a lovely, smooth voice. Initially, I was a little put off by the ;length, but the time passed so quickly while I was listening. I generally listen to audio books while I'm driving, working or sewing. Colton is a racing driver at the top of his game and the ultimate player. Rylee is a gentle soul, working with a charity that homes boys together when they are taken into the system. She has loved one person, and now is living with survivors guilt. A chance meeting throws both of their worlds into a spin. After you've finished Driven, you'll want to head straight into Fueled.

A beautiful love story sexy, steamy scenes that actually enhanced the book but didnt make it seedy. i will definitely read this over again and I have no doubt that I will enjoy it just as much the second time around. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I got it because I wanted a chick flick I didnt have to think to hard work... but I enjoyed the characters and their story a lot! I like Colton and his broody nature, and Rylee isn't as annoying and needy as some other leading ladies I've come across. overall a great story and am looking forward to the next one :-)

interesting
These are a few things I like about the story:
1) Great sex
2) Interesting storyline
3) GREAT one liners
Cons you ask? Well lets see.
1) KB repeats thoughts over and over throughout all three books
2) You can't just buy one book bcs all three are one story
3) STRESSFULL storyline for books 2 and 3. So much so that it overshadows the love story. Instead of enjoying it, I found myself uptight and stressed. Although not book one
4) heroine is very weak in that in book one she keeps trying to make excuses to see him when it's all weak ones and all it boils down to is that she wants him and will do anything to crawl back into his life. But again, don't worry my friends, this IS a romance and at the end all will workout.
Book 2 was all about her being mad at him and him trying to get her back and terrible interactions.
Book 3... He finally starts to workout through his messed up head and things finally start to workout but then we have a couple of accidents and healing to go through before the happily ever after. Still very stressful.
So overall if I had the choice between 50 shades and this I'll go with 50 even though it was poorly written at least the story kept me interested and excited and full of love.
I also did not like the narrator changes in books 2 and 3. It throws off the reader in the sense that you have to readjust over and over when voices are not what you are used to so it makes it hard to really get into the book. This is not to say I did not like the male narrator, just that I prefer either all male or all female to allow for emersion into the story.
So make up your own mind but this is not the kind of book I would ever want to re-read.

Awful!!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A better storyline, a more mature Rylee and Sebastian York, as the narrator.
What could K. Bromberg have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Stop imitating other books.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Tatiana Sokolov?
Andi Arndt, Sebastian York
Any additional comments?
I don't understand the 4 and 5 star ratings?? I cannot finish this book. It's as if the author is trying to imitate 50 Shades and The Crossfire series, but failed miserably. I have read post from others that felt similar, but they were advised to continue listening because it gets better. I have really tried, but became annoyed with the stupidity and immaturity of Rylee. The narrator made it worse.

A steamy fast-paced whirlwind romance!!
I've actually read book #1 Driven & book #2 Fueled but still decided to try it in audio. I can say that each book gets better and better. I'm still waiting on the last book Crashed to be released in March. Can't wait!! Driven is told from the perspective of Rylee Thomas. She's a 26yrs old working for Corporate Cares, a company that houses orphans. The state turns over their guardianship to her company. Corporate Care, houses kids who are at an age that the chance of adoptions are pretty low. So instead of foster care, they have a home to live in, they have consistency of guardians, rules, school and counselling. Rylee meets Colton Donavan backstage at a charity auction, after getting trapped in the storage closet, Rylee starts to have a panic attack when Colton saves the day. They share an instant attraction, but in the heat of the moment, Rylee realizes that the man that has her body pinned up against him, was only minutes ago getting it on with another woman in the hallway near by. Rylee is soooo not impressed with his playboy slut games and wants nothing to do with any of it. Unfortunately, this refusal only sparks Colton's relentless seduction and chase of Rylee. Before the night is over Rylee finds herself rescued, kissed, insulted, pursued, tempted, coerced and ultimately obligated to a date thanks to a donation paid for by Colton Donavan. Needless to say they are off to a bumpy start. Rylee is very broken with a tragic past and she will fight his seduction every step of the way. Colton however is used to getting what he wants and “Driven” is his middle name. Her resistance only serves to fuel his determination. He ends up making a huge contribution to Corporate Cares and Rylee finds herself working side-by-side with Colton on the project. It becomes apparent that Colton has some major demons which he is determined to keep to himself. Everything about their relationship is so incredibly intense - the good, the bad, the sex, the drama. It's full on. I loved the chemistry between them, these two were hot. Even the scenes where they don't actually have sex were extremely HOT! It was definitely one of those books were 'getting there'was just as good as the act itself. I will admit, I spent the first 70% of the book seriously frustrated with both Rylee & Colton. The push and pull - he wants her, she resists, she gives in, he pushes her away, she lets him, he pursues her, she resists, she gives in, she runs away, she comes back, he resists, he gives in.... It drove me freaking crazy! Colton’s and Rylee’s story move along a break-neck speed but come to a crashing halt with a cliff-hanger ending. I recommend you continue with the next book Fueled when Audible releases it.

Awesome story, but narrator ruined it for me.
What did you love best about Driven?
I LOVE this story and this author, and purchased the audio version because the story is so good. However this narrator just ruined the entire story for me. She spoke too fast most of the time, had very little emotion for the Rylee character, and her male voice, or at least her Colton voice, was a major turn-off. He just sounded sleazy.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I really hope there is a different narrator for Fueled, which is the next book in the 3 book series. Someone who can do a decent male voice and puts more feeling into the characters.

Chapters went on and on, so boring.
The playing of hard to get went on 11 chapters . It took 12 long boring chapters before Ralily considered having sex with Colton. It was 11 chapters of playing hard to get. It was the longest chapters ever, so boring. Their first sexual encounter was average, nothing earth moving. Listening to Ralily constantly whining, I wondered why Colton even wanted to have her.

I just finished Sweet Cheeks, LOVED IT!! So I searched for another book by Bromberg. I purchased Driven based on reviews and sales expecting another great book. Not. I did try to like it but at 43%, I returned it...sorry to say.

Disappointed
I purchased two books due to high ratings and was disappointed. This was one. I turned it off after 10 minutes of ridiculous kissing silliness. "Oh, oh!" Later with nothing else downloaded, I finished it. Sigh. Wished I hadn't wasted my time. Foster home part was good, but the rest was juvenile. Was this supposed to be for teens? Cannot believe that adults would give it such high ratings. This is the second time this month that my fellow readers/listeners have failed me by giving a ridiculous book a high rating. How could you?! I trusted you! If this drivel gets such high ratings, maybe I should write a book.

Whole series is way too long and overly drawn out!
Any additional comments?
Each book was approximately 14 hrs but the whole series of 3 books should have been 14 hrs total. I know the series has gotten good reviews but was way too long and drawn out, to the point of being boring. Probably 75% was just about back and forth talking about nothing except we can be together or we can't be together and Rylee whining about loving Colt and not being worthy and rest was about having sex or talking about it. Only 25% was probably worthy storyline. Gosh I just got totally bored midway through the first book so I started skipping forward through it and the next two books. So even if not totally horrible, I can't really recommend unless they had reduced each book to 6 or 7 hrs. It was just too long with mostly meaningless storyline. This review would apply to all three books in the series.

Hooked! Disappointed I have to wait
Would you listen to Driven again? Why?
May have to listen again because of the way it ended. I gave to wait to start the second audio book. Yes I can read if but I rather listen than watch tv.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Not crazy about the male voice, at first it created me out. And actually lost some of it because of the distraction.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The traumatized child speaking for the first time.
