Would you believe it took nearly 500 years to translate the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible? That's because the ESV builds on the great translations of the past - including William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526 and the King James Version (KJV) of 1611. But the ESV Bible also builds on the best Christian scholarship of the last 100 years.

It has poisoned the Church, obscuring the Original Good News and sending millions away-wounded, angry and cynical, from nearly any organized expression of faith. The Cure offers an authentic experience in Christ that frees some from a self-rewarded righteousness, and others from a beaten down striving for a righteousness they can never seem to attain.

Excellent audio bible
If you want just a word for word narration, that is easy to listen to, this audio bible is very very good.
I've listened to a lot of audio studies. I really like this one. There is no running commentary, only an introduction to each book. No opinions of the tutors, no meandering or waffle. Just pure scripture. Narrated in a range of pleasant voices to differentiate the different speakers. A soft variety of music accompanies each chapter, I find it not intrusive at all bit very pleasant once again.
I will listen again to this wonderful version and I strongly recommend it for a basic bible, only downside is there are no apocryphal books but thats fine I can source them elsewhere.

It is a good audio KJV but probably not the best.
Obviously I am going to like an audio KJV bible, I did listen to all 77 hours and also I do think it's wonderful that you can get for a single credit all this work, and the whole Bible in the Authorised King James Version.
But I will say some things I didn't like about it, because if you are going to invest 77 hours in listening through the Bible you need to consider first off whether to commit to listening to this version or a different version.
This one has a major flaw and some minor flaws. The major flaw is the incessant background music. This is the manin distractor and really the manin reason for not giving high marks to this production.
Some of the reading talents were not quite up to the same standard as others. I don't expect Shakespearian actors, and for sure I did have the sense that these were all believers and I would prefer to have the bible read by people who mean it than the very best actors if they didn't. But sometimes I got the impression that they didn't really understand the meanaing of some constructions in the King James English, in particular stressing "that" in constructions where the "that" is unstressed changes the meaning and makes it ungrammatical. Someone who gets Elizabethan English should have been coaching the voice talents.
There is also a discrepancy in between the parts of the Bible where there are several voices (such as what I consider to be an excellent part of Genesis where Leah and Rachel each have their own voice and these in turn are separate to Jacob's voice and the Narrator's voice, and then there are other parts such as Acts where there is no separation of the voices and a Narrator reads all parts. I think if you are going to do this, and there's nothing wrong with it since the title is a Dramatized version, then there ought to be a degree of consistency about it.
For the above reasons I am going to suggest to those who want to undertake the very rewarding dsicipline of listening to the Bible on audiobook to look first also at the Max McClean reading called "the Listeners Bible". I am not sure I would always place the emphasis exactly as this reader does but he seems to do so with consideration and understanding and even the pacing itself means that you are likely to get more from it. The absence of background music means that your long-term memory is free to hide away portions of scripture more. For sure listening to this version you'll remember all the music for the rest of your life, but for that very reason, probably fewer of the actual verses.
I am trying to strike a balance between being grateful for the blessings this version undoubtably gives, and at the same time pointing out there's a better one out there. I hope I don't offend any brethren with my feelings on the matter. God bless all who hear this and the other audiobook.

Great production but navigation is lacking
The other reviews are better to read for specific details on the production, etc. I wanted to post a navigation guide since there is not one included. I came up with this by getting the full list of KJV books, listening to where each part starts (this audiobook downloads in 11 different parts), and then broke the book list up according to where each part picks up. There are also some people saying that this audiobook isn't complete. That may have been the case at one time but is no longer the case. This is the full Bible.

Good job Zondervan.
I have read the Bible several times and have tried many different audio versions. This one is the best that I have found yet. I enjoy listening to books that I know well, on my on my MP3 player, while I am doing other things, as don't have to concentrate on them the whole time and can stay with the story easily. I just listened to over seven hours of the version without a break and enjoyed every minute of it. Very easy listening. Good job Zondervan.

Yes, this IS the complete KJV Bible!
What made the experience of listening to KJV Complete Bible Dramatized Audio the most enjoyable?
The performances are very good, and I enjoy the music and subtle sound effects.
Please note: This is a word-for-word reading of the KJV, made more entertaining by music, sound effects, and different voices for different speakers besides the narrator. If you want a real dramatization of selected stories from the Old and New Testaments, based on the KJV, I recommend Living Scriptures. Their audio programs are expensive and not available here; you have to go to their website (no, I don't work for them).
Any additional comments?
I don't know what problems may have existed with this title in the past, but both the Old and New Testaments are now included. I downloaded this title on 6-24-12 and imported it into iTunes for syncing to my iPod, which plugs into my car stereo. I spot checked to make sure the whole Bible was there, from Genesis 1 through the very last words of Revelation 22.
Now, you may encounter a problem with the numbering of the parts, depending on the app you're using. There are 11 parts. In iTunes, these showed up as 1, 10, 11, 2, 3, and so on. I fixed this by right-clicking on each part in iTunes, selecting Get Info, and changing the part names to Part 01, Part 02, and so on to Part 11. This caused them to display in the correct order. I also omitted the full title from the part names, making them just Part 01, etc., so that the number of each part would be easy to see on my car stereo display.

LGBT Feminist Version
Apparently the prophet Jeremiah and some other prophets we're women, according to pro-feminists that put this together. Yes, Jeremiah has the voice of British women...you know...because Christians are all too eager to disrespect a prophet of God in favor of feminist so-called equality. This TRANSGENDER performance is an insult to the prophets, and to God Himself, for nowhere is God a feminist. If a man should not put on women's clothing why should a woman portray the voice of a MALE prophet? What an outrage.

Love this dramatized version
However, The books are out of sequence and
it downloads to mp3 device the same way. I
can't seem to navigate around the book. It
takes to long and it is frustrating. Other
than that the clarity and speed at which it
is read is awsome!

Nice listening
The music and sound-effects are fairly good and enhance the listening experience. My Muvo listening device
only supports sound quality of 3. I suppose if your device can support a higher sound quality then the sound-effects might be better.
The reading is done by different people to portray the different characters in the bible.
All in all it has helped me and I listened to it for about 4 hours yesterday and it held my interest all that time.
It's a good deal for 2 credits and I would recommend it to people who like the original King James version.
I have heard that other translations of the bible have watered-down the meaning of the words and that the (this) King James version is the best.

The audio is excellent, but....
This is the bible, which is composed of 66 separate books. This is not like a novel where you read it from start to finish. If I wanted to listen to the book of psalms, chapter 23 there is no way except to spend an half hour in order to find it. The individual books should be listed and each chapter indexed. The way this particular audio book is formatted makes it useless for a bible student or devotee. It may be a pain to index this bible, but would be worth it for those who may want to listen to a particular book and chapter. Most books do not require such effort, but as in real life there are a few things that is worth the extra effort, not many things but there are a few things and the bible is one of those things. Now it sits unused for the most part. If ever you do fix and update the index to this book I would be very interested.
